This is a great post by Dan. _ People tend to stick to one form because they feel stronger in it, but you should take advantage of both. _ In fact, you can use a narrow grip to take advantage of both worlds, use a pronated grip though. _ Lat pull downs are still great and engage the lats perfect, if you're too weak to do a full set of pull ups. _ "Pullups vs chinups 🔥 There is some misconceptions out there in regards to which of the two bodyweight pulling movements is better; pullups or chinups? _ I'll be honest, both are absolutely amazing and for different reasons. _ In terms of lat activation, both are great, both will build you a solid back. _ However, depending on secondary muscles used (I e. your traps and biceps) might deter you away from one and towards another. _ Chinups tend to have more bicep activation due to hand positioning whereas pullups are geared more towards the traps due to the wider overhand grip that puts the biceps in a non-optimal position to pull. _ With that being said, it is also harder to do pullups for most people, so chinups tend to get the wave for novice and intermediate gymers alike. _ I personally like pull-ups better as I find my pull day uses a lot of rows and generally finishes with biceps curls so I get enough work on my arms through those movements, but that's also just me. _ If you want the best results, you'll rotate through both of them in your programming. - This post was inspired by @physiotrition !" _ Which one do you do the most?
