Mammon's die-heart fans are making me hate the character.
(if you wanna hear my reasoning read below)
I think he is a sweet character, and sometimes the constant insults his brothers give him gets annoying. But ffs, he ain't a saint either.
There is a point where all you see in the obey me discussions is the fans complaining "such a sweet baby boy gets so much dirt and hate from his bros!", "i hate x brother, they hurt mammon!", "mammon is better than x, and if you don't agree you are wrong!", "i hate the devs for doing him so dirty!", etc..
And yes, he is a lovable character, like (imo) the rest of the OM cast, but he does have flaws, and terrible ones that make him a "scum" at times. His kleptomania, and obsession with money is bad. He has come to the point of hiding a camera in the rooms to sell nudes without consent. And to those ones saying "THATS NOT MY MAMMON. HE WOULD NEVER!!", well too bad but its cannon, the devs sometimes add questionable things in the game, and sometimes the characters act OOC. Also, his pushiness at times goes too far, and gets annoying as well. And his gambling habits, are problematic for his family and status too.
This is coming from someone who had to deal with an older brother who stole from my parents to gamble, and threw us to poverty.
I'm not saying I hate mammon, i love the character and he is my third fave. I'm just saying the obsession some people have to slander everyone and everything who "hurts" him, gets annoying imo. All the brothers are scum, they all behave shitty and problematic at times, and they insult each other as well.
The reason Mammon gets the most insults is because its a running joke between the devs. He is basically this character trope called Fubin (ふびん) that's basically a character who thinks highly of themselves but is pitiful and people around him consider him "stupid". And he is not the only one or the last one that gets annoying jokes as running gags.
But that's what the whole game is about. Dumbass demons who are supposed to be scary and evil but in the end are the biggest most lovable dummies, that can't help to always get each other in funny shenanigans.
In conclusion:
I love Mammon, but the fans get too crazy about the "slander" he gets, to the point of being annoying and rude with other fellow fans.
Siblings insult each other, sometimes in the most rude and hurtful ways, but at the end you learn to develop a thick skin because you love them despite everything. And the relationship the brothers have with each others is that way (and i find it quite realistic too).
