Dear players,

We are so glad you joined us here at FivePoints. It has been a wonderful experience for us, and we hope for you too.

We want to let you know that as of 1/31/19, we are going to convert FivePoints to a closed, invite-only RP. This decision was a tough one. We the admins, unfortunately, realized that we do not have the time to maintain this game. Rather than close the doors completely, we would like to keep writing with all of you and continue to explore the valley together.

We understand you may have some questions. Here is a quick FAQ. If yoru question isn’t answered, please feel free to send us an ask before 1/31/19. After that, we will be stepping back from admin roles and continuing to write with you.

Are you still accepting applications? Yes, and no. Yes, if you are a new writer looking to join us before we shift. Apply! We’re excited you’re joining us on this next chapter. If you are an existing player, we recommend holding off until 2/1/19, when the game shifts to be autonomous. You’ll be able to bring characters in then.

What happens if I want to bring in a character after 1/31/19? As existing players, we trust that you know the world and what fits in it. If you want to bring in a new character after 2/1/19, post a follow and a brief introduction (either on your current blog or in the OOC) to share your new character with us!

Will there be group plots? Currently, there aren’t any planned group plots — though that isn’t to say that they won’t happen. Moving forward, we encourage everyone to suggest, coordinate, and execute group plots to explore the world, their characters, and magic.

Will you be doing activity checks? Nope.

How do I invite someone to join us? If you want to invite a friend to come write in the valley, that’s great. Post in the OOC to introduce them, and add them to the OOC blog (we’ll be making everyone admins there).

Citizens:

There has been a break-in at the Central Post Office, leading to the delay of letters and packages. We have reason to believe that the suspect is aggressive, and attacks are not singularly targeted. Please be alert when traveling after sundown, and report any unusual activity to the Watchmen at once.

CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT 01.

We all have a type. And with a character, the best way to get to know them is to know what their type is. This task aims to accomplish that by putting four of the most common personality tests to the -- well, test. Take them as your character and share your results with the fivepoints;development tag!

Easily the most popular personality test out there, Myers-Briggs Type Indicator delves into how you make decisions.

Enneagram →

In contrast, Ennegram focuses on your weak points. Take the test and learn about your type and your wing (type 3, wing 2 is read as 3w2, and so on).

Aura →

In the valley, auras are visible to some warlocks and witches. What does your character’s aura say about them, even when they aren’t looking?

Temperament →

The idea of the four temperaments traces back to the Ancient Greek medical theory of the four humours, which held that there were four fundamental bodily humours (blood, yellow bile, black bile, and phlegm) and that illness was caused by an imbalance in these. While that ideology is outlawed in modern medicine, the four humours play into your character’s temperament, how they handle stress, and their interpersonal relationships.

CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT 03. This one’s all about -- you guessed it -- magic. It’s an integral part of life in the valley, passed down from generation to generation, and each of our characters has a complex relationship with the power that gives them purpose -- and keeps them in the valley. Answer these questions and share them for the rest of us to read using the fivepoints;development tag!

First, look at the list of magical areas associated with your coven. Your character studied them in school, and would have pursued deeper lessons in those special to their coven if they wished. If they had to pick one, what would it be? Then, take that a step further:

Why this specialty? What do they like about it?

Is this the one they would have picked or would it be chosen for them?

Have they apprenticed to learn more? Are they an expert? Would they like to learn more?

How does their specialty impact their life? Do they use it in their day to day?
