Willow is never purposefully cruel. Even now, in her coldest state, she finds no joy in torturing somebody like Jongwoo -- but she does find a little amusement in his anger. They do not know each other well. For some reason he doesn't find her completely off-putting even as she forgets how to pretend to be herself. They walk from bar to bar, never enjoying a place enough to settle down for more than one drink, and sweat out the booze in the humid night air.

Prattling on about life, Willow asks seemingly innocent questions, toying with a nerve she only knows to toy with because she's in his head. Where did you move from? Why do you keep looking over your shoulder? No one's there, you know. She doesn't mean to be cruel. She's just curious. She's just heavy-handed about it. Drunk, too. Doesn't help her cause.

When he finally snaps at her, enough! Willow backs up. His temper spikes - which smells delicious - and satisfies her itch to know him better. A man's anger can tell you a lot about him.

"Fine -- fine, whatever. What ever. I'm going. I'm going home. You're mean." Willow steps backwards off curb and straight into the path of a car speeding at her. She's lit up by the headlights, car horn honking as the driver makes no attempt to swerve, Willow thinks: Huh. This is going to hurt. And then Jongwoo pulls her out of the way.

He pulls her with enough force to topple them, but he's sturdy enough that they don't fall. Instead, they just stumble a bit. She feels his hands grip both of her shoulders and the back of her head hit the nearby brick wall.

He's shouting at her. Something about not looking where she's going. How could she be so careless. Something. What she hears is birdsong. The giddy skip of her heartbeat.

Jongwoo kisses her, furious. The brutal collision of their lips causes a cut on the inside of his lower lip. His anger tastes like hot honey. Willow is struggling to keep up with all this. She laughs into his mouth, pulls him closer, and kisses him back.

You, ever the storyteller, have made him into a ghost: now he moves with the confidence possessed only by the dead. He walks the halls of the hospital with his back straight and head held high as if he truly believes himself invisible. That’s all he needs to get away with it—the sacred answer to everything, what he’s been trying to tell you all this time. Know that you won’t get caught and you won’t. 

When he slips inside the room, you’re seducing an empty word document with your eyes. Mapping the architecture of all your stories. It’s important to keep track of them now. It’s important to choose your words carefully. 

His tongue cradles a word of its own. You look up in horror. There are dark beautiful eels in your eyes. He could linger in this forever. 

He creeps to your bedside, and your arm juts out, pleading and defensive. Just go. Your voice is like shards of broken glass—a broken mirror, maybe? Please, just go.

He takes the bracelet from his pocket. Your arm stays out. He looks you in the eye. Your arm stays out. He clasps it around your wrist. Your arm stays out. And then it rips itself backward as if it’s been burned. But that’s all you do: you do not take the bracelet off. In fact, you touch it, defensive, as if he’s just returned something stolen. 

He tells you that he will find you when you leave this place. You don’t have to wait for him. Wherever you go, your shadow will be with you. He smiles, touches your cheek.          “You look like you’re going to be sick.”

You stare straight into his eyes with come-hither hate. Your favorite little game. Then you turn frantic: I am going to be sick.

His hand finds its way home to your neck. If you’re going to be sick, then he wants to feel it in your throat like a cat’s purr. You wince but you do not recoil. The eels in your eyes want to swim out, right into his. He welcomes them.

His lips are already brushing yours when you say, I’ll vomit in your fucking mouth. 

He knows when you’re bluffing. You’re bluffing all the time. Are you going to kill him too? Tease.          “Okay.”

You grab his shirt, ball the crisp fabric up in your fists. You seethe with something you can’t name. He waits with baited breath to see what happens next. When nothing does, he grins devil-wide, and finally he can kiss you the way he’s wanted to ever since you first met. 

Your throat dances beneath his hand, but you aren’t gagging. It’s a sob. You pour your pain into his mouth and he drinks it up. Soon you’re drinking, too: your jaw moves against his, your lips part. Your hand in his hair, pulling as hard as you can, trying to summon a death rattle. 

Not if he gets one out of you first.

clavicle: who/what do they lean on when they're vulnerable? in terms of what: killing people! we see numerous times that his first instinct when threatened in any way is to eradicate the problem entirely by killin a bitch. the only way he survived his childhood was by killing the people who were hurting him, and that set the standard for the rest of his life. i believe his steadfast belief in his artistry is also a guiding star: his cute lil vultureculture etsy shop creations are his vent art <3 and as for who: between the childhood abuse and antisocial narcissism, i doubt he thinks anyone is worthy of all that. when he was young i'm sure he found some solace in boksoon, since she took him in and nurtured his instincts; even in adulthood he seems to resent her the least and speaks more openly with her, though i don't think vulnerability is on the table anymore. i don't think there was that level of intimacy with any of his prior lovers/"creations" either; it seems to me that he found whatever he was really looking for in jongwoo, and alludes to seeing him as more of an equal, so i guess that's my answer. are we surprised

sternum: what makes their heart pound hardest? killing people is the answer to this one, too, especially if it's a high-risk kill. this is most obvious during the scene where he reveals he killed deuksoo, somebody he's presumably known since he was a boy, upending the entire system the residents at eden have been living under, with the cherry on top that jongwoo nearly caught everyone in the act. in the scene he's breathless, crazed, and stuttering, revealing the sort of high he gets. less-serious answer: helpless twinks

ribcage: who/what are they trying to protect? gee i wonder (its jongwoo)

phalanges: what is their relationship with touch? sparing and sensual. it's a useful tool for intimidation and manipulation; it is a necessary intimacy for his work; it's a refined erotic skill with his art. on being touched by someone else: if it isn't on his terms he's likely to be contemptuous, unless it's jongwoo, who can do whatever he wants forever

1) the character everyone gets wrong i think jongwoo's characterization is often oversimplified, even by people who take into account that he's an unreliable narrator. he's a tricky lil guy.

8) common fandom opinion that everyone is wrong about there's a weird sentiment that gihyeok's mannerisms are a conscious copycatting of moonjo's because he aspires to be like him. quite frankly i don't think he had that much agency in how he turned out - it's pretty evident that moonjo carved him in his own image and the show more or less spells that out for you in ep8. also they absolutely were fucking, i don't wanna hear any of that "he's like another brother" bullshit

20) part of canon you found tedious or boring i don't care about anything going on with seiji tbh. he has that one funny scene at the beginning where he introduces himself in class and promptly fucks off but 99% of the time when he's onscreen i'm snoozin. how he managed to get two women so obsessed with him is beyond me. their obsession with him is more compelling than the guy himself

23) ship you've unwillingly come around to shizaya may have some rights if you don't remove all the canonical interpersonal chaos and seething hate. it is simply sexier that way
