   There’s a rope that has been hanging in the oak tree for a few years. It has knots along it to help with climbing. I want to take it down now and repurpose it, but the knots are very tight and stubborn. When I tried to untie some of them a couple days ago I got nowhere fast, and ended up thinking “I need a marlinspike.” Then, with the rope in both hands, I had a ten-second language-nerd space-out about how cool the word ‘marlinspike’ is and how tickled I was to finally be able to use it in a sentence.

   However, I do not have a marlinspike, nor are there any old-timey nautical supply stores anywhere nearby. It turns out, though, that you can use a small phillipshead screwdriver as a marlinspike with at least moderate success. I untied half the knots this afternoon, and I’ll get a step ladder and have another go at it tomorrow morning.

   It’s been a day of tidying up small projects, including some banking (yuk), a dress fitting for my daughter, grocery shopping (yuk), buying auto parts, and weeding. While we were out doing errands, with her driving to get more practice in town, a man stopped us to tell me her left brake light was out. We were able to fit that right in with the other errands, and my son showed her how to replace brake lights on an elderly Toyota. That may be the FASTEST any broken thing has ever been fixed around here.

   Now if I can just untie the rest of those darned knots. And mend one more dress. . . . . .

I was listening to my patb playlist and this song came on and I realized how to fix it + the episode.

So you can keep the song but change Pinky’s cameos to wanting to join them (take pictures, prepare snacks, etc) as more of a motherly figure.

And in the song during his short part: (as a rewrite)

“Oh, what is this emptiness?

Brian has not realized what he’s done

Oh, how I’ve dreamt of this!

All I want’s another... (son)”

The writers really missed their chance to bring back Romy, or at least this sorta robot-son. If they just tweaked Pinky’s reaction to wanting to be apart of the family rather than wanting to be in the place of robot-Brain, then this would be *chef’s kiss* golden.

An updated ‘Brinky’ was practically here, but they fumbled w the execution 😪

Hey all wanted to share what I'm up yo this week,

Eome home renovations and quilting while seeds are sprouting and starts are so very sloooooooowly growing~

Quilty stuff (more on that to come in the future~

Some house renovations and painting being done to convert a previously occupied room into a work space for me, yay!~

Some before and after paint and the old ceiling fan. Had to caulk up the floor boards. I forgot to get a full set of before pics :/

First wall coat, ill be repainting the door too, but I'd like to take it outside to put on the horses to fully redo.

And the roof, it is definitely easy to see where its been done in the pic. The guy we had out to clean the vents and do ac maintenance had confirmed there was smokers in the house at one point judging from the crud they cleaned out.

Side note, if anyone here gets a home of their own 100% get your ac and vents deep cleaned, acid washed and if you can afford it resealed(?) When you can. And yearly maintaining, very important for that. You will save yourself trouble, a huge amount of cost and keep your unit working longer and better.

Grossly more evident here, ill be going through and touching up and finishing the paint with a smaller roller and brush

Hoping to have it finished painted today and switch out the electrical outlets, plates, switch tomorrow and begin moving stuff in tomorrow :)
