The “bird theory” is based on Dr Gottman’s research and ideas about relationships. An attentive partner will respond to their partner’s bid for attention, say… pointing out a bird. When Louis fails this test, it leaves his relationship with Harry up in the air on their way back home from what was meant to be a very special holiday.
