Back to the Status Quo We Go

So the new amendments to Indiana's RFRA are being celebrated, but I am still unhappy with my state's legislators. Why? Because all that has happened is a return to the way things were before RFRA - in much of the state it is still perfectly legal to discriminate because of sexual orientation and gender identity. They may have abandoned the codified discrimination allowed by RFRA, yet the absence of a state-wide statute adding LGBTQIA protections remains. The media storm is dying down, even though we have not moved forward, just returned to the starting line. I hope people aren't fooled, and remember this, Glenda Ritz, and the failed amendment to our state constitution that would have outlawed same sex marriage as well as civil unions. Remember, Indiana, the rampant abuses of power. Remember Mr. Pence shutting down his phones and voicemails, completely disregarding his constituency. Remember the usurping of power from an elected offiical, #IStandWithRitz. Remember Mr. Pence's attempt to start his own government controlled media source. Remember Mr. Bosma taking the same-sex marriage amendment out of its rightful committee when it was not likely to move on to the House for a vote. Remember the RightToWork. Remember, Indiana, and VOTE IN 2016!!!
