Second, I don’t really see fixture as canonically desiring significant others. I’m aroace as hell, though, so maybe that’s it. 🤷

I think polycoalition is also viable.

Tbh, I’d probably slot them closely into ‘toxic qpp’.

So really I see Alzor as seeking romance and Fixture as opportunistically and manipulatively entering the relationship.

I’m Fixture, after the Coalition kicked me out. I still love them, but I’m angry about it, and take out my vengeance on randoms.

not to repeat old discourse but like, fixture very much mind controls people. it’s quite likely that fixture’s mind controlled alzor in the past (or tbh any shipmate).

Hmm. I’ve found a few really good fics in the past that have explored the concept (they may have all gotten deleted, though), and it’s a fascinating idea.

I just don’t think it canonically happens. We see that Fixture primarily mind controls people when it’s directly useful to the mission, or it advances Fixture’s aims in some way.

Plus, Fixture respects his teammates- even Dewey- enough to not mind control them. That’s a boundary that, once crossed, can’t really be undone; the team might actually leave him for good and that’s the one thing he can’t let happen.

In an AU, I’m all into it. In canon, I don’t see it. But who knows! Maybe the next update will reveal, idk, that They had Fixture practice on teammates or whatever.

liking fixture at all is literal psychopath behavior and the fact that you pair him with someone as pure as alzor tells me you hate alzor for being easily manipulatable and neurodivergent

like. I think the idea of them as a couple is interesting, because that extra layer would interact spicily with the dynamic! it’s BECAUSE of the manipulation.

and stop uwuifying alzor. he’s not a child; he’s got moral complexity. I like alzor as a character a lot, actually- one of my favorites.

‘Psychopaths’ aren’t a thing; let’s not. The moral purity over…finding a character interesting…is a hell of a thing to find in my inbox in the year of our lord 2022.
