This is about food and weight watchers
I joined weight watcher’s freestyle program in the 5th month of this year and it was exciting....at first. Scanning products with the freestyle app was absolutely a thrill (“Omg that would be half my points!”). Two friends of mine were doing weight watchers as well and the ever so fun “Guess how many points this is?” game was exciting too.
But in truth that program was never going to work for me. The point system and my lifestyle never would add up. I personally felt just as controlled by the app and the point system as I did by my urges to eat.
I will say that the program did bring forward the over-eating (something I’ve always ignored) I fully discovered I’m a binge eater. I absolutely have never been diagnosed with an eating disorder but I’m positive I do have one. I eat emotionally, out of boredom, stressfully, and secretly. When I am eating a meal I’ve been known to be thinking/talking about the next meal.
I used to drink massive amounts of soda as a teenagers. I stopped that. I used to eat candy bars everyday, like two or three a day! I love cake and pastries and I’ve eaten whole pizzas to myself more times in a month then anyone should ever.
The freestyle app helped me notice so much of my over eating. Like how on my way to work I’d get breakfast and eat that, when I got to work I would have more breakfast. While on my 15 minute break I’d have more to eat. My lunch would be an entire meal. I’d leave work with a snack and get food on the way home. While at home I’d eat dinner.
My life revolves around food. The freestyle app only accentuated my life revolving around food. All be it less food and maybe better options but it didn’t help me not focus on food.
