Will you upload the kajifes songs in mp3? I always check your posts with that hope 😢😅
Hi there!
I have plans of making/uploading HQ rips of both BDs. Not only do the BDs contain a few more songs, I'm also hopeful that the audio/video quality will be better than the TV broadcast.
Unfortunately, I haven't received my package yet. People seem to underestimate how long it actually takes for things to get to me. Even with fast shipping options, the Austrian customs/import procedures significantly delay every single order. On top of that, I usually don't go for the high-end shipping option because I order and receive so much stuff from Japan that I'm simply not willing to spend a fortune on every little item. It's bad enough that I have to pay import taxes ranging from €10-€30 for every freaking package so I refuse to fork out €60 or more for faster shipping.
As for MP3s, we'll see how much time I'll have to work on that. Ripping/encoding/uploading the video files will take forever so it really depends on how busy I am once the package arrives.
Kaji Fes. 2023 MP3s YES or NO?
Please make MP3s!
No need for MP3s, the video files are more than enough.
MP3s already exist (if so, pls send a link in the reply section)

On a related side note: I haven't looked into it yet but maybe there are already people providing all of this. YK is very popular these days so chances are high that other fans have taken it upon themselves to upload recordings/MP3s. If I were you, I would be checking out the dedicated cpm threads to see if they've got what you are looking for.
🚨Update🚨
Great news, everyone! Thanks to a kind and generous follower (@ama-m3), we now have MP3s/FLACs for Yuki Kajiura Live Vol.#19 Kaji Fes.2023 Day 1 and Day 2🥳 I have updated my "Yuki Kajiura/FJ LIVES HQ" Masterpost with a link to a new Google Drive folder for Kaji Fes. 23. As of right now, the folder only contains audio files but once I have received my package, I will be adding the video files as well. Please enjoy! And once again, a HUGE thank you to @ama-m3 for sharing these audios with us🙏
Note: I am slowly starting to upload content to Google Drive.
I started with Kalafina’s complete works in MP3 and FLAC format. After all,
I spent the last three days converting my music library from Apple Music to a 700+ file FLAC collection. It was miserable. But on the bright side, I’ve rediscovered music that I haven’t listen to in years.
Hi! Thank you for all that you do. I love this blog! I plan on showing support for the ladies by buying digital copies of songs I don't have from mora jp (for what I couldn't get on ototoy). The tutorial seems fairly straight forward with the registering and such, but I was wondering, since the post is 3 years old, if the VPN you recommend is the same as in the post? Thank you!
Hello there!
Ohh! I am very happy to hear that 🤗
And you are absolutely right of course, my mora TUTORIAL is pretty old and no longer up-to-date regarding the VPN service.
I haven't been using either of these two options for a very long time. None of the free add-ons were working properly anymore so I had to look into some alternatives. I actually switched to a paid service a couple of years ago because I wanted something more reliable that would help me get around all the region-blocks.
At the moment, I am subscribed to a 2-year-plan by Surfshark which costs around 60 bucks, I would say that's a pretty reasonable price but I am sure there are cheaper plans available on the market.
Thanks for the heads-up, I will be updating my tutorial right away!
It’s officially past midnight in Japan so Keiko’s 2nd single is now available in Japanese online music stores so be sure to purchase it! Here is a link to my “How to buy music on mora.jp TUTORIAL” I just bought the FLACs on mora ^_^ It’s also available on OTOTOY. You can pay with PayPal and don’t need VPN. You will most likely also be able to buy the single in your local iTunes store soon so be sure to support Keiko any way you can!
Quick Review of Ray / 始まりは
Ray: KEIKO [Vocals], Saku [Lyrics], Saku [Composition]
(he has worked with many singers such ASCA, Haruna Luna and Aoi Eir)
始まりは: KEIKO [Vocals], KENGO[Lyrics], KENGO[Composition]
(he hasn’t worked with anyone I know)
I guess I have already shared my opinion when the PVs got released but here are some thoughts nonetheless. Not sure which single I like more. Probably the first. I think Ray is on par with Be Yourself. I have slowly fallen in love with 命の花(Inochi no Hana). Maybe the same will happen to 始まりは(Hajimari wa). But right now that’s definitely my least favourite out of the four songs Keiko has released so far. I love how hre work is very old-schol and inspired by the 90s (just like Wakana’s solo work). I am such a sucker for 90s pop XD Maybe it’s just me but the production value doesn’t seem to be too great for her songs so far (I guess that’s due to COVID-19). This might be the reason why her songs sound a little unpolished...? But who knows...
More details and a little goodie below the cut:
Ray
As I have said before, I really LOVE the chorus of this song and the part in the verses that leads up to it. The bridge is also quite nice. Her high notes are super impressive. Overall, the bridge and final chorus are by far the best and most powerful part of the song. Not a big fan of the weird synthesiser sound effects though (what’s that weird electronic sound? So out of place in the song. Sounds like there is a bad radio connection or something, not very flattering). Anyways, this will sound epic live with real instruments and without those weird effects! Can’t wait!
始まりは (Hajimari wa)
With these kinds of rap/hip-hop vibes I was REALLY hoping for deeper vocals. KEIKO seems to be really into using a kind of unnatural-sounding “baby” voice (I don’t even know what to call it o.O? It’s different from her cutesy voice.). It’s not a bad song though but I definitely prefer “Ray” at the moment. Bear in mind, I am not a big fan of anything rap/hip-hop. Really loving her “lalalas” tho. And generally it’s a very laid-back beat and her voice is quite smooth and playful (despite the singing style) so I can see myself enjoying the song as background music. On a side note, this somehow reminds me of King Gnu’s “Prayer X” (the first ED of the anime Banana Fish).
I hope there will be another KEIKO interview released soon so we get some insight as to why she chose these two songs for her 2nd single.
Today I would like to share a tutorial with you on how to easily buy music on the Japanese online music store mora. It’s one of the best sources to legally get your hands on Japanese music in a high quality digital format (AAC & FLAC).
I think as fans we should do our very best to support Wakana, Keiko and Hikaru. It’s a hassle for most foreign fans to purchase physical copies of their releases (especially now during the COVID-19 crisis) so buying from mora is a great alternative (although I will admit that music on mora is quite pricey BUT you will get great quality and you will be among the very first who can listen to a new release). Of course you also have the option to buy the tracks on iTunes but I know not everyone has an iPhone and from what some of you have told me not all stores have their solo work.
The release of Keiko’s digital single is right around the corner and Hikaru’s single 「Altern-ate-」 is already available for purchase so this is the perfect opportunity to acquaint yourself with mora.
There are only TWO things you need:
Credit card (doesn’t need to be registered in Japan)
VPN add-on for your browser (I am using Surfshark at the moment)
For the most part I will base my tutorial on THIS post here. All credit goes to the creator, they did a fabulous job. I found the instructions very easy to follow. Consider my post an extension of the previously linked tutorial. Okay, without further ado, let’s get started. Please note that some of these screenshots are very old so the appearance of the websites might have changed considerably. The process should still be the same though.
1. Register on Rakuten in order to use Rakuten Pay.
Go here to REGISTER. You will be transferred to the registration page where you only have to enter the information that’s REQUIRED. Ignore the other fields. It’s super easy and you are barely giving away any information.
Note: On mora we will be using the payment option “Rakuten Pay” because they apparently don’t accept all foreign credit cards (they didn’t accept mine). If they do accept your card then skip all the Rakuten stuff and go straight to mora.jp in order to pay everything with your credit card.
2. After registration add your credit card in your account settings
Once you are finished with your registration you need to go to your account settings HERE.You might have to log in again. There you need to click on Confirm/Change/Delete Credit Card Information
Then you will see an Add a new credit card section. Click on the option Credit Cards for use in Japan
Enter your card information and submit it. That’s it. From now on your card can be used for Rakuten Pay.
3. Register on mora.jp
Go to mora.jp to Sign In | サインイン. There you can click on the button to register for free.
They just need a mail address and a password. You will be sent a link to your mail address to confirm the registration and that’s about it. I think you are later required to enter a nickname, your location (just randomly click one of the places available) and your birthdate.
4. Turn on your VPN and connect to a Japanese IP
5. Browse through the music on mora.jp and put everything you want in your cart
You can browse through mora.jp by searching for an artist or a specific song. Make sure to look for “FLAC” or ハイレゾ if that’s what you want. Typically those tracks and albums are a lot more expensive but they are totally worth the money if you are into high-quality music. Instead of pirating the music you can ACTUALLY support your favourite artists.
Once you’ve got everything in your cart you can go ahead and purchase the music.
6. Choose the option “Rakuten Pay” to purchase the music.
When you are trying to pay, you need to CHANGE your PAYMENT METHOD to Rakuten Pay. Initially, it’s on a default setting so you cannot confirm the purchase. Click on “支払い方法未選択 - 変更” and choose “ 楽天ペイ”. Then a big red Rakuten Pay Purchase button will appear.
You are asked to enter your Rakuten ID (email and password you registered with earlier)
On the next site you just leave all the point stuff as it is because you can’t really do anything with it anyway. You remove the checkmark for the Rakuten info mails and then you enter your credit card SECURITY CODE. Click on the CONFIRM CONTENT OF YOUR PURCHASE button.
Confirm the content of your purchase and then you should be DONE.
Your purchased titles are now available for DOWNLOAD
I also downloaded the MORA Downloader which comes in quite handy and saves everything to your music folder. It is not required though. You can simply download the titles clicking the DOWNLOAD button.
That’s it. If you have any questions, please let me know!!
Finally I am back home which means I can give Keiko’s solo debut my full attention.

❗ TUTORIAL on how to buy music on MORA.jp ❗
Now here is my review 〈(•ˇ‿ˇ•)-→
As a big Keiko-fan it hurts me to say this but in my opinion this might be the weakest Kalafina solo debut release so far. As you all know, I really like Wakana’s “Toki wo Koeru Yoru ni” (also, “Tsubasa” is a pretty strong B-Side) and Hikaru//’s “Altern-ate” is a solid anisong with some unique and memorable elements. I think it’s funny how they are promoting these songs as something that’s completely new for Keiko when in fact both songs are incredibly reminiscent of her pre-Kalafina projects. “Be Yourself” sounds like it could have been an Itokubo track and “命の花” could pass as a watered down version of Azuki Hino’s “ひとひらの花”. The way I see it this is less of a reinvention and more of “back to the roots” for her? I wonder if this is what Keiko really wants or if this is just a means to an end. In her final Kalafina interviews she kept on talking about wanting to do music that’s “worthy” of being pursued. I always interpreted that as being the reason why she ultimately left Space Craft. They obviously wanted Kalafina to stay alive after the departure of YK under the helm of someone else (most likely the people that are now working on Wakana’s music?) but for Keiko that didn’t seem right so she ended her contract. Understandable of course, the genius of Yuki’s work was what made Kalafina’s music worthy of being pursued for Keiko. Now I cannot help but ask myself where Keiko sees the “worthiness” in this kind of music...? I am genuinely curious. I guess it all boils down to her liking this sort of music (let’s not forget, she is a fan of generic K-Pop stuff). As long as she is happy I am happy. And well, she is writing her own lyrics so there is definitely a lot of worth in that. At the end of the day this is just her debut work, a stepping stone so to speak, there is really no point in reading too much into it. I am looking forward to the album release and I am sure I will eventually find something to LOVE about her solo work. Either way, I will continue to support Keiko as much as I can. Honestly, the more I write and the longer I listen to the songs in the background, the more I find to like about them. XD
Anyways, KEIKO’s “命の花” has a nice enough melody but it’s not the kind of ballad I usually gravitate towards. Keiko’s vocals are pure love though. Maybe it’s due to the long-ass Keiko-drought we had to suffer through but her voice just sounds so soothing and reassuring here, I can’t get enough of it. My favourite part is her “why not? my dream”, I don’t know why but the way she sings it, her intonation, her English pronunciation, everything about it breaks my heart.
One of the best things about “Be Yourself” is the PV because we get to see Keiko at the studio. I love simple PVs that show the artists in their casual clothes. It’s always nice to see her in one of her old outfits. I am easy to please in that regard. Not a huge fan of the super high parts of the song. Don’t get me wrong, they don’t sound off or anything, quite the contrary actually, Keiko is doing a GREAT job hitting all those high notes. But meh, this kind of singing makes Keiko’s voice sound super plain and indistinguishable from the voices of every other generic J-Pop/Anisong artist out there. Thankfully she uses a less-high singing style for the verses. After having listened to the song a few times I will have to admit that it is growing on me. I couldn’t have cared less about the instrumentals but with Keiko’s added vocals, the song has become a lot more catchy, especially the chorus. Keiko’s “just to be yourself” immediately gets your feet tapping. I can already imagine the hype of a live performance.
Do you have the 2018 live songs as downloadavle mp3 files? Thanks in advanced
Hi there!!
I have them as FLACs if that’s okay. You can simply convert them to mp3.

On a side note, my report of the YK Live in Taiwan is coming soon, please be patient a little while longer. My little trip was quite exhausting and I had to get back to work right away so I haven’t really had time to sit down and write it.
