Please join Project Roll Call with Flags of Honor Escorts as we Escort the Roll Call Flag, the For The Fallen Flag, and the 2020 – 2021 Flags for 22 and visit The Rock of Honor @ Julius M. Kliener Memorial Park in Meridian, ID. The Rock of Honor is the brainchild of Meridian VFW Commander and WWII Navy Veteran John H. Burns, who, upon moving here six years ago, found no memorials for fallen veterans in Meridian. He wrote an article in his column “One Vet’s View,” for our local newspaper, The Valley Times. He collaborated with the American Legion and formed a joint committee. The article was noticed by Mayor Tammy de Weerd who helped coordinate a site at the newest, largest park in Meridian, Julius M. Kleiner Memorial Park, besides having a Senior Center, the Trustees of the park saw fit to donate land and other resources to see this memorial come to fruition. Founded: 28th of September 2010 The "Rock of Honor" is the name of the project to erect the first veteran's memorial in Meridian Idaho. It is located in the new Julius M. Kleiner Memorial Park. This Memorial is a joint venture of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and the City of Meridian. The Rock of Honor will Honor our Fallen Veterans of Meridian that were killed or died from wounds suffered in battle, sense state hood. May Their Service and Sacrifice Never be Forgotten! #ForTheFallenFlag #RollCallFlag #FlagFor22 - 2020 #FlagFor22 - 2021 #FlagsofHonorEscorts #ProjectRollCall www.Projectrollcall.org https://www.instagram.com/p/COvgTs6LNMy/?utm_medium=tumblr
