Got bored.....
A Romanian flak gun crew on the Eastern Front. WW2, 1943
been playing hell-divers and i thoroughly enjoy the 20mm autocannon.... or flak gun as i call it.
German 20mm Flakvierling 38. 1/48 scale Tamiya for Bolt Action. Another quick build. The four cannons normally fired in diagonally opposed pairs with the non-firing pair being reloaded while the other pair fired resulting in a firing rate of 800 rounds per minute. All four could also be fired at once in the event of an emergency producing a massive 1800 rounds per minute firing rate
British artillery gunners of the 15th (Irish) Horse Artillery pose with their Solothurn Panzerabwehrkanone 36, an effective anti-tank weapon developed by the Swiss imprint of Krupp-Rheinmetall. Impressed by its capabilities during trials in 1938, the British government ordered three hundred. Sir Oswald Mosely's victory in a 1940 by-election ensured that they soon became regular customers.
The photo here was taken in Palestine in 1944. The 15th were posted there as part of a (futile) attempt to keep the Jewish resistance supressed. Funnily enough, this gun later shows up in several photographs of the King David Artillery Regiment, the Haganah's only support weapons unit.
