The Vet doesn’t let go, instead his hold on her gets tighter, not enough to hurt Anna, no, he could never hurt her. He promised to protect her, and he vows to keep it. Eventually he loosens his grip, allowing Erin to turn around to face him. He lifts his head to look at her.
His own face is distraught. Eyes are blood shot and his pupils are small. There’s bags underneath his eyes, he looks like he hasn’t been sleeping for a while. He looks somewhat terrified, like he’s starring at a ghost.

He tries to hold back a choked sob, but it’s a failed attempt. He’s back to sobbing. He’s quiet for sometime, his breathing is labored in between sobs.

He’s not looking at Erin. No this wasn’t Erin. This was Anna. She was back. It was Anna’s red hair, it was her beautiful pale skin. This was Anna.
Erin leaves James some Valentine's Day chocolates and a cheesy little card along with it. Where does she leave it? On his desk at work when she spotted him leaving to help someone find a book. Before he returns, she's already left to head back to her own job.
Coming back to his desk, he wasn’t expecting a present. What was today? What would call for such a gift? It wasn’t his birthday and it’s way past Christmas...... Opening the card he was struck with a sudden realization. His palms began to feel sweaty and his heart beating quickly in his chest.
Today was Valentine’s day, and worst of all he didn’t get Erin anything. Oh no what could he do? Given that Erin wouldn’t probably mind and say that it’s no big deal, he’ll just end up feeling bad because here she is giving him a present while he doesn’t have one for her. He NEEDS to figure out a gift idea and fast because daylight is burning, James.

Erin liked romantic cliches didn’t she? At least he assumed she did, given that she always checked out romance novels every now and then when she went to the library. Maybe he can call her over for dinner? Maybe she’ll enjoy that? Or maybe that’s too much of a cliche?
No, no.
It’s a good idea, in his mind. He can also run over to the store and buy flowers? Certainly there had to be another place around that sold flowers other than the store she worked in right?
Quickly, he whipped out his phone sending her a message asking if she had any dinner plans later this evening. Hopefully all can go well tonight.

❛ Oh! Ya mean Lil’Jamie?? He’s great I love him! We’ve practically grew up together, he might be a a couple months older but we’re still the same age! We use to cause so much mischief. One time during a family reunion we let the hogs run wild and spooked them a lil’bit ya know just to rile them up a little and let them run loose, it was HILARIOUS.... Well except for the fact we got in some major trouble but it was still great and the look on Aunie Marie was priceless. Worth all the chores we were given. Yeah me and Lil’Jamie were inseparable as kids! HAha! ❜
Issac gave a whole heartily laugh, however the laugh faded out and the man’s gaze softened. No longer focusing on the happier times the two had shared. He bit his lower lip and swallowed hard.
❛ I miss those days, ya’know?? He was never the same again after he came from.... Well... Ya’know.... It kinda hurts, ya’know? To see him hurting so much when he came back.... He locked himself in his room and never talked to anyone.... Especially after Kelly passin’.... And then just got up and left sayin’ he was movin’ somewhere else.... Never heard from him again. He does talk to his Ma every know and then... But it ain’t the same, ya’know? ❜

What only came was a small mumbled hum in acknowledgement. The Vet was tired, it’s getting to that time of the year where the nights get longer and the weather is getting colder, which in turn makes the older man very lethargic.
Staying over at Erin’s house for a while, the two of them where sitting on the sofa…. Well James was kinda sitting, if sitting was classified as spreading out all over her sofa and using her thigh as a pillow.
