Here’s my piece to @sylver1996 for @watchsamuraiflamenco 2020 Samurai Flamenco Gift Exchange. I went with the themes fantasy, friendship, and adventure that you requested. Here’s a Slime Rancher Au ft. the Flamengers. Hope you like it!
But the Flamengers in a poly ship
All of them, including Gotoh, who they all (excepting Masayoshi) lovingly call ‘Yellow’
Green cooks for all of them individually. He doesn’t make just one dish for everyone, he’s calculated what each of them need to eat for optimal health and how much they need. He still makes desert, too, because the endorphins released have an 84% chance of guaranteeing a happy family for the moment. He finds all of his loves to be simple people, but he’s fond of them, and he laments with Gotoh about how idiotic the others can be sometimes. Dude is also mad stubborn. Winning a fight with him, or even compromising, takes loads of patience. He and Pink didn’t talk to each other for a solid summer once. Masayoshi nearly bit his fingernails off because of it.
Black is major protective of all of them. He notices if any of them get funny looks when they’re out as a group or in pairs or smaller groups, and immediately points them out to Green like “What are the chances of that guy causing shit?” (to which Green usually replies “we’re the most deadly group of people in the country, trust me I did the math. Relax.”) He’s also snarky as fuck, always quick with a comeback or one liner when anyone says anything stupid (which between Masayoshi and Blue, is pretty often). He’s always cracking Gotoh up. He doesn’t encourage the others when they want to start shit with other people, but he doesn’t discourage it either.
Blue is usually the source of most of their inter-relationship conflict. He gets both hot-headed and big-headed, and he talks over the others a lot. After Masayoshi, he gets abused most by Gotoh because Gotoh finds that putting him into a headlock will shut him up faster than anything he could say. This inevitably leads to a pile, Masayoshi trying to help so grabbing Blue from the other side, effectively toppling them over. Black sees this and jumps on, total dick that he is, and Pink joins, total dick that she is. Green will look on and sigh, talking over their shouting with loud calculations about how likely Blue is to survive more than five minutes of all their weight, how much tension this will put on their relationship as a whole, how much safer it would be to just talk it out, etc. Blue will be the first to defend their relationship, though, or just stand up for any of them individually if he has to. He doesn’t have to a lot, but he starts a lot of shit and has gotten them banned from, like, three restaurants. He gets very, very upset if someone starts to consider leaving the relationship, or even just the House, for any reason. Very easy to ‘betray’, so to speak. Green once had to shout through a locked door that he wanted to stay in a dorm because it would make getting his doctorate easier, not because he was breaking up with them.
Pink still has a thing for Red Axe, but it’s more of a running joke than anything. Much like Blue’s sudden obsession with Mari, it’s a harmless celebrity crush that the others tease her with whenever Red Axe is around. She’s getting along better with his wife because of it. Pink dresses a bit frillier than she probably would if she were to choose her own wardrobe, but it’s because she’s the only girl in the house and the boys don’t dote on her so much as just give her presents when she’s on her period or having a bad day, and so with five boyfriends she never has to buy her own stuff again, plus she knows that if she were to throw any of it away, it would upset them. For this reason, she only does it when she has too many things. She’ll tell them what fashions she’s into, they’ll oblige. Masayoshi pleads with her to please donate her used clothes and jewelry and not incinerate them. She agrees to. She still goes out with MMM from time to time, curling her nose at all the testosterone in her house. She’s also the one who sets their daily schedules, so she’s on a friendly basis with Ishihara and everyone else’s manager. She sets up dinner dates, movie dates, etc. She’s the main reason they’re able to maintain a stable relationship with six people, and she knows it.
Gotoh is... slowly moving on. It takes some time, because between texting his “girlfriend” and his marriage to Masayoshi (which is already a tricky business with the texting going on alongside their married life), Gotoh wasn’t ready to be “unfaithful” or open his heart to anyone else. No one had anything to say about that, because what can you say, but Masayoshi smiled and touched his thigh beneath the table and said “I’m sure she’d understand it isn’t cheating. And if you wanted to try this with them, she’d be coming with you.” Pink spoke up after that, something about “it’d be nice to have another girl, even if we cant’t ever meet her. Just make sure she’s always on my side.” Gotoh looked around at all their hopeful faces and agreed to give it a shot for a month or two. That was two years ago. He’s starting to text less, following along with Pink and Green’s “Recovery” Schedule that lets him move on at his own pace. He’s limited to one or two texts a day, and while they’re all together or one on one, he keeps his phone in his pocket. He’s learning to look up when he wants emotional support, not down. Masayoshi is perhaps his biggest enabler, Pink says hi to his girlfriend when she sees him texting, Blue bites his lip, Black minds his own business, and Green comments on the state of his recovery, treating it like the addiction it is. Together, they’re helping him recover. And he loves them all for that.
Masayoshi is on cloud nine, not fully comprehending how he went from having no friends to being in a loving, supportive marriage with Gotoh and dating four other people. He can’t wait until he can marry them all, too. He’s always trying to get everyone to compromise when they’re fighting or disagreeing, he’s always standing up for the underdog in any argument, and he’s fiercely proud of each and every one of his loves. He brags about them constantly to Ishihara and anyone else who’ll listen. He and Blue and Gotoh kill at multi-player games. He’s who everyone looks to when no one can decide what to eat or what to watch (and before he even opens his mouth, Green is reaching for the curry paste or Pink is pulling the Red Axe DVDs down from the shelf). He’s just... so happy. He doesn’t know what he did to deserve this, because even saving the world shouldn’t be as rewarding as this is. But he’s not going to take it for granted, and he’s going to enjoy every moment while it lasts.
Also, all together they are the best “Uncles and Auntie” group any of their nieces and nephews could hope for. Imagine a kid beating up their niece and the six Flamengers showing up
Flamen Green is Asexual and no one can convince me otherwise.
Aren’t Joji and the Flamengers supposed to be in solitary confinement, why are they freely in the same room with a window, watching TV?
Imagine secretly preparing a team of heroes for a special occasion, only for 4/5 of them to be killed off immediately, but you planned so far ahead that you also prepared an even more elite superhero team as a backup.
“Sorry, Masayoshi, looks like you’re getting promoted!”
Was samurai flamenco a collective hallucination
ok so,,,what do you ship more: Klance or Sheith?
oh my god ok so like... i have Different Feelings about each ship but I rEALLY love them both, I think I have more of a bias towards Sheith rn bc it has a strong possibility of being canon considering extra-diegetic content plus the dynamics we saw in season one buT WE’LL SEE
((Klance could be canon too WHO KNOWS we have like 5 seasons ahead of us Things Could Change))
