I never understand why people don’t understand this! I hate celebrating my birthday and just don’t want it to be a thing, but then my friends get upset and act like I hate them? Like no I don’t I just don’t care for my birthday?

right? someone can’t spend their own birthday how they want because others get upset about it?

Would this work? Our cats have a clear favorite and nothing will stop them from waking that person.

That freaking stinks! I turned 30 this year, and it was the first year I’ve ever been able to not celebrate with other people. I felt a little rude to tell people I wanted nothing, but it was a great birthday. I hope you get to celebrate in a way that makes you happy, dear.

thanks! I feel rude, too. As if it’s not rude what they’re doing? It’s not like I’m uninviting them.
