6. Dead Dove Do Not Eat: Book you would recommend to a select audience with a mountain of caveats The Hourglass Throne by KD Edwards. The series in general, not just book three. It's Different and fun and the magic is unique but wowee mind those content warnings! And yeah I get WHY the author chose to include COVID in his world, but I still don't like it! And I don't have to like it. I still enjoyed it though. Dumbasses and loves of my life.

10. Sleeper Hit: Not a book that you have to force into people's hands, but well-executed Even Though I Knew the End by CL Polk. I'm still thinking about Them. The audio wasn't long, I could relisten to it if I wanted to there.s nothing stopping me. Also, Frostbite by Nicola Twilley! I don't usually read nonfiction, but I really enjoyed this! I didn't know modern refrigeration started in the Boston area! Not going to go out and tell people HEY READ THIS INDEPTH DIVE INTO THE HISTORY OF COLD BOXES but I mean. It was cool (pun intended).

11. what non-fiction books do you like if any?

I fully admit I do not read enough nonfic, but in my defense I am not a fast reader and there's so much fiction that interests me. The last two nonfic I've read I really enjoyed though! Julia Child's Kitchen and a history of refrigeration. Both very interesting as well as entertaining, which is something I appreciate in a nonfic book.

19. most disliked popular books?

someone at knitting a couple weeks ago mentioned they were reading through all of sjmaas' books and I did so good keeping my mouth SHUT LMAO I'm so tired of hearing about her too and how ~feminist~ she is. Lol. Lmao even. Patriarchal, trad wife bullshit.

5. What genre did you read the most of?

According to storygraph, queer fantasy! Which tracks haha actually the only surprising thing about this graph is how high YA still is, I feel like I never read it anymore.

9. Did you get into any new genres?

I wouldn't say it's new, but I have read a fair amount of horror this year. It is a genre I like, I'm just extremely picky about it, so I don't pick it up often! T Kingfisher has been a good fit for me, and while it wasn't a read this year, Into the Drowning Deep was VERY GOOD at the horror (turns out the kind of horror that gets to me is oceanic)
