I'm in Starbucks watching Flannagan's 2014 show "The Summit" and I'm crying. I just realized that I will never have the chance to get good if I don't start on that path now and I only have a year left. 2 Winterguard seasons and one field season. Then I'm done. I'm not good enough to get into an independent guard. Not yet. And I'm getting so emotional over something so small but performing really is a huge part of my life and I can't imagine being...me without it. I know fear is the only thing I have to get over. Sure, I could lift a few more weights, eat healthier in order to toss higher. But the only thing holding me back is fear and that is terrifying because I have nothing to blame but myself for letting that stop me. It's not my diet or strength, it's not that I don't get the concept of something, I just am too afraid to do it correctly. It's so scary.
