Hello!! I’d like you to rant about the ALBW swap au if you want to?? I’d love to hear it!!
I don’t have any specific questions bc it’s 2am and aim tired lol but please rant!!
AH UH I can't think of anything comprehensive to rant about so. have some stream of consciousness thoughts about the relationships of the main quartet (Ravio, Hilda, Zelda, Link)
Hilda and Ravio - Close friends, confidantes, bonded pair, two peas in a pod, etc etc. They've known eachother since childhood. I haven't decided the specific circumstances of how they met, but at present, Ravio works part-time as Hilda's personal secretary advisor (he is also still a merchant). They have a very high level of trust ✨ To the chagrin of other nobles, they are very casual with eachother despite the vast difference in social status. Ravio is the only one Hilda feels comfortable to be fully vulnerable around and she loves his Silly Guy Energy, meanwhile Ravio admires her strength and appreciates that Hilda doesn't underestimate him due to his cowardice/somewhat eccentric mannerisms. The general demeanor of their relationship tends to look like the "HE ASKED FOR NO PICKLES!!" meme (I need to draw that someday)
I hc them as somewhat being academics (in different fields) so they like to yap to eachother alot 🫶
Zelda and Link - Were very close friends prior to the story. Zelda, as the princess, has a very polarized reputation in ruined Hyrule. Link, I imagine was a squire that eventually became Zelda's personal bodyguard. He and Zelda bonded over old legends of past Heroes, and (once Link discovers he is the Hero™️ of this era) the weight of their duties. Unfortunately, they have a major falling out right before the plot kicks in. Zelda doesn't want Link to commit divine theft, Link meanwhile is tired of doing nothing and is frustrated that Zelda is still doing nothing. They still care about eachother, but the difference in choices to make drove a tremendous wedge between them. Unfortunately neither of them are willing to compromise at the moment
Hilda and Link - Recognition of the self through the Other (derogatory) ⭐ They haaaateeee eachother. a lot. but they also have a mutual understanding of why the other person chooses to act the way they do because both of them have A Burden (being the Princess/Hero). At one point (while Hilda is imprisoned no less) I imagine they have a petty but volatile argument because both of them point out eachother's insecurities. Link respects Hilda in a way, despite being enemies. Hilda does not share the sentiment--she wants to have that thieving asshole in green ARRESTED.
