The fact that I'm going to be in @elbdot 's special anniversary comic dub of El's Alolan Adventures (psst, find the details over on @kitblackthornva ) has had me head over heels with Alola all over again, even as I've been working on fleshing out the story for my Sword protagonist, and a Professor OC. So as a little Halloween treat for myself instead of drawing something spooky I decided to draw my Ultra Sun MC Flare, in her brand shiny new updated color palette, with Gladion when they're in their late teens.

I headcanon Gladion at roughly 14 in the games, where as Flare is 15 at that time. Here they're 18 and 19 respectively. Flare is still reigning champ of the Alola League and Gladion is running the Aether Foundation as President. They're both very busy so any time they get a chance to hang out is precious to them.

(If you're wondering, I stick with Hau being 11 during the game's timeline and headcanon Lillie as 12, making them roughly 15 and 16 respectively at the time this picture would take place)

I'd also like to take a moment and just give @shima-draws a shout out because when I think of pokemon her art instantly springs to mind, it's honestly goals and everyone should definitely check it out. (And maybe her RG Project hack too if you like RedxGreen 👀)

Flare Sol

A moodboard for my Ultra Sun Player Character, Flare. In my head she's a bit older than your standard Pokemon MC, in her midteens instead of being 10-11, and Alola is actually her second Pokémon Journey. Her first ended after her partner, a Charmander, was stolen by Team Rocket. They moved to Alola to give her a fresh start and a chance to try again without painful memories hanging over her head. Her new Partner is a Rowlet, she's kind of adopted Lillie, Gladion, and Hau, and she just kind of feels sorry for Team Skull. Lusamine can kiss her ass though.

It’s been awhile since I did a palette challenge! So i decided to make a sunset inspired palette on Coolors and drew my Ultra Sun MC Flare enjoying a sunset. The view here is heavily based on the view from the balconies of the Tide Song Hotel in game, however I decided that there was no way I was drawing that weird wavy railing and just drew a normal one. XD

Hey @pigte hope it’s not weird of me to tag you, but I was inspired to draw Flare specifically by seeing your recent drawings of your pokemon kids, so thanks for inspiring me to give my girl some much needed love!
