Antonio laughed a bit, thinking of all the possibilities, but settled on one. “I suppose a yearly bonus does get everyone pretty excited, doesn’t it? I know I loved mine this year!” He then nudged Francis playfully, “Oh, and friends are pretty good too, of course!”

“You’re surprised because you have a soft spot for hot blondes.”

“Well, I guess so,” Antonio said a bit exasperated, “But I’ve got a bit of a soft spot for everyone, hot blondes like you included amigo! But why didn’t you tell me about this earlier? You know I love to hear all the details!” Antonio crossed his arms and pouted dramatically even though he wasn’t at all mad.

[pulls him aside at his work] uh, hey Toni? I think I might... have a crush on Vash... and not just the 'I want you in my pants' kind of crush, like the dating and spending time with kind...

“Really?” Antonio asked while scratching his head. Basch and Francis? He never would have imagined it.

“Well, if this isn’t a joke, I’m glad for you! Basch is pretty great, and I am sure he would make for a great partner!” Antonio said genuinely, “I’m sure he would make a relationship pretty stable.”

His curiosity peaked, he wanted to know everything. His friend having a crush on one of his best employees, he wanted to know all of the details. He smiled and questioned, “So when did you figure this out?”

Vash tilted his head up to the clear night sky, biting back with all his might a groan as he practically leaned over the side of the gondola, his elbow resting on its edge and his cheek smushed into his hand. This mask was itchy, pinchy and restricting his peripherals, but he had to comply. He couldn’t protect her from all of the questionable criminals from home, now could he.

His eyes lazily flitted to the side; his partner, whoever the hell it may have been - he didn’t know, nor bother to care - sat beside him with an air of elegance and a faraway daze. Well, at least one of them was having a good time.
