Not my pictures, nabbed from mostly colleagues, but the other week there was a typhoon and before it a series of brief but violent storms that resulted in rather interesting visual atmospheric effects. The flash storms can be over within minutes, and the quick change from no visibility because of rain and clouds to stunning sunsets is wild.

Just Beat The Ghost Bear DLC

I do very much like the story, even if the cub is a total shit to his elders. He got better, at least.

I do appreciate the limited mech availability compared to smoke jag campaign. Feels more realistic. And I was still never hurting for chases to use. Starting with more things unlocked basically meant the progression was just Nova -> Timber Wolf -> Kodiak with an ECM+LRM boat for the one star member.

The fight on the hull of the warship was thematically cool but made SUPER annoying by the dropship intervention. Having to wait for it to come into range, deal damage to the hp sponge turrets, wait for it to swing back around, repeat, was very much not fun.

I was playing with a friend, so we had a Kodiak available for the Iron Talon fight and managed to get it on the first go. But I can see where anyone playing solo would have a hard time of it due to npc stupidity. Having to damage it in pieces for only a small window of time to put damage into the actual weakpoints, and the damage-sponge turrets respawning after a minute. Very much a pain.

What the actual fuck was the Caspian, though? First off, completely lorebreaking. Bigger than some of the dropships we fought already, naval laser on it that oneshot one of my starmates in a Kodiak when I wasn't looking, constantly flying behind buildings so I couldn't hit the stupid thing, and SO MUCH FRIGGEN HP. Damn thing took like 20 minutes to take down. It wasn't fun. By the time we were trying to regroup, all the npc units were missing. Not dead, according to the readouts, but missing all the same.
