Transformation Prompt
She woke up to the smell of roses. She had heard of them, yet she wasn’t scared. She allowed herself to be lifted out of bed and drifted, tranced by their sickly-sweet perfume. It was as though she had no control over herself. She floated out of her house and all the way to the valley just out of town, leaving every nagging warning behind her. Down in the valley, she saw the other victims, the beautiful flowers of pinks, greens, blues— the lost children. She knew this was where she was meant to be; their new mother. As she settled down into the grass, her body changed, water streaming through her veins instead of blood, and she soon forgot everything she once knew, forever entombed in the beautiful garden.

Jenny was riding her bike one day. She always loves to ride her bike in the street next to her neighborhood. Her neighborhood is usually very calm and quiet. with the only noise coming from a small grocery store at the end of the street. Jenny would visit every day and buy a piece of candy. The lady at the counter was always so nice. Jenny would always use her manners, and be on her way. One day, Jenny went in and saw a man with dark clothes on. He was just standing there and looked at her quickly as she began to walk in. The old lady smiled, ignoring the tall figure next to her. “It’s on me today, Jenny.” Jenny was excited to hear about getting the free candy and ran out of the shop. She went straight home, ate dinner, and went to bed. The next morning she went back to the shop. As she approached it, there was nothing but police cars surrounding the building. Jenny ran to see what was going on. The woman who owned the candy shop was shot dead at the counter. That was the last time Jenny ever went to the store.

Flash Fiction
Amaranthion. Home to many races: Humans, Elves, Dwarves. They all want to live in peace and harmony. But the Gods have other plans. The Gods are split into two groups: those who want to protect the races, and those who don’t. Leading these two groups are the Twin Gods: Fanor and Ranor. Ranor wants to keep the power of the Gods from the humans, to rule over them, with fear and power. Fanor wants to give the mortal races this power so they can develop and grow.
Ranor started the first God War in the near beginnings of the First Age. Because of this desperate time, the races came together to forge a powerful god killing weapon. But, there were traitors amongst them. The god killing weapon fell into the hands of Ranor, who used it against his brother. Nearly killed, Fanor fled to the Underworld of Amaranthion where he would stay, regaining his power, in an attempt to defeat his brother once and for all.
The races of Amaranthion believe Fanor to be dead, killed by his brother and started hunting down information on the whereabouts of the plans to create a new god killing weapon, named Aetherious, named after the Aetherium metal it was forged from. Aetherium metal holds magical properties but is exceedingly difficult to make. It exists in both time and space, making it extremely hard to work with and exists in the physical realm at the same time. This makes Aetherium created weapons able to strike at a God.
Many brave adventurers have sought to recreate Aetherious but so far, none have prevailed. Little do the denizens of Amaranthion know, Fanor is alive. Extremely weakened from his battle with Ranor, but he is alive. He resides in a place no mortal would dare venture, regaining his strength slowly. He holds the secrets of Aetherious and how to reconstruct it for the coming battle with Ranor.
