Flat Stanley. Fighting for Literacy by bringing the world into perspective
Unlike the Flat Stanley Project which is the international literacy and community building activity for students of all ages, teachers and families, the FlatJohnny project is Greenskeeper.org’s irreverent spin on spreading the “Know Before You Go” Gospel.
We provide you the information you need BEFORE you go. That is our purpose. We help you decide where to play golf. Be it relevant and current golf course reviews, golf course maintenance alerts, photos, anything related to your chosen golf course, you have it served up with an intuitive interface that not only keeps the avid golfer in the know but entertained as well.
Greenskeeper.org is a vibrant community of avid golfers.
What does that mean? According to the National Golf Foundation an avid golfer plays more than 25 rounds of golf per year. At Greenskeeper.org that accounts for over 70% of our membership. This avid golfer only represents 25% of the total golfing public but we also represent 70% of all Tee Times played in North America. As a member of Greenskeeper.org you have pull. Collectively, you do have a voice.
We exist to help our fellow golfers. All content is member generated and it is unlike other golf sites. In fact they try their best to emulate Greenskeeper.org. which begs to say we are the gold standard when it comes to being your online golfing community.
That is why we are mobilizing our membership that spans across the United States and Canada to take a photo of your favorite golf course with FlatJohnny and post it here on GK. Let your local golf course or your chosen destination golf course know that as a member of GK and you care about golf conditions. You care that you spend your money wisely and when you do spend your money you expect a return on your investment. After all if you spend as much time playing golf, wouldn’t you want a decent return on your investment in a timely manner?
It’s really that simple.
Now how do you get some GK S.W.A.G. (Stuff We All Get) to show off? Easy. Participate in our Online Community. Write Golf Course Reviews of the golf courses you play. Engage some of our members in our very active forums. Distinguish yourself as a GKer. Our volunteer staff is trained to notice you. As Community Director it is my job to foster participation in our community be it through our very informative golf course reviews, golf course tips, photos, and forum posts.
