Sierra Boggess pretty much used Rossum’s cadenza in the 25th anniversary production, too (just more flow-y then bounce-y).
No, Sierra Boggess used the Brightman cadenza, though she sang it legato (where the notes flow together, so to speak). The Rossum cadenza is actually quite similar to the Brightman cadenza in the beginning, but the critical difference is that it goes down in the middle, while the Brightman cadenza goes up. Here is the original Brightman cadenza for comparison; you can hear that it’s quite similar to Sierra Boggess’s, except that Brightman sings it staccato (where the notes sound separate).
