This Chestnut and Rye Stuffing with Jones Bacon is a hearty and flavorful stuffing that will elevate any holiday meal. The smoky and savory flavor of Jones Bacon pairs perfectly with the nuttiness of roasted chestnuts and the earthiness of rye bread. It's a crowd-pleaser that will have everyone asking for seconds!
Ingredients: 8 slices of Jones Bacon, diced. 1 cup of chestnuts, roasted and peeled. 2 cups of rye bread cubes. 1/2 cup of onion, finely chopped. 1/2 cup of celery, finely chopped. 2 cloves of garlic, minced. 1/4 cup of fresh parsley, chopped. 1/4 cup of chicken broth. 1/4 cup of unsalted butter. 1 teaspoon of dried sage. Salt and pepper to taste.
Instructions: In a large skillet, cook the diced Jones Bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove bacon and set aside. In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onion, celery, and minced garlic. Saut until softened, about 5 minutes. Add the rye bread cubes to the skillet and toss to combine with the vegetables. Cook for another 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the bread starts to brown. Stir in the roasted and peeled chestnuts, dried sage, and chopped parsley. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Pour the chicken broth over the mixture and stir to combine. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the stuffing is heated through and well-moistened. Fold in the crispy Jones Bacon pieces you cooked earlier. Remove the stuffing from heat and transfer it to a serving dish. Garnish with extra parsley if desired. Serve hot as a delicious side dish for your holiday meal.
