In circles Lyrics Composed by Darren Korb. Sung by Ashley Barrett. I hear you buzzing, a fly on the wall In through the window and up through the hall Flying in circles just trying to land I see you hurting I do what I can But I won't save you I won't save you Maybe you're looking for someone to blame Thriving for air while you circle the drain Never be sorry for your little time It's not when you get there, it's always the climb But I won't save you I won't save you I won't save you I won't save you
so I literally failed at life today. picture this.... Its a hot and sunny wednesday afternoon. The sun in filtering in through the window and the sound of a man mowing the small patches of grass outside the classroom is mixing interestingly with bird song. The man of your current dreams is standing before you, his now familiar beige and black outfit edited slightly for the warmer weather in that his fleece jacket is all the way unzipped, his accent like a sweet, vaguely northern european but not definitively, breeze. He moves to the board, never have logarithmic functions seemed so captivating, finishing his final problem. He closes with a promise to see everyone next tuesday and people begin to leave. It is your chance, a chance you have been waiting for since about half-way though the semester when you realized you would totally have sex with him on that table if the situation arose. Though this time, in this moment, your intentions are a little less provocative, though you are still more then open to alternatives. Coffee. Everyone drinks coffee. You put your papers and book away slower then usual, waiting for a classmate to stop talking to him and force you to stand there like a dumbfounded deer in headlights. The bastard is walking away. Almost your chance to pounce. One more student left. You stand, take a step forward and pause as he calls the other student's name, wanting to have a word with her. The moment fizzles out and dies like so many dreams do on days like this so close to the end of the semester on a college campus. Not having anything left to fidget with and with your sister waiting outside impatiently in what was meant to be your get-away car should you be struck down or your triumphant processional should he agree to your advance. Now it would just be a transportation back home, fueled by disappointment, regret and the heaping number of lost opportunities you seem to have collected lately. You wait for a moment, but your heart is already in your stomach and last nights lack of sleep in catching up on you fast. Cats are always nice.
You know what really sucks about asking someone out...the time you spend obsessing over it. Like I can take him saying no, sure it will suck but ill just shrug and be like 'well if you change your mind you know where to find me' and cry alone in my car for a little bit. Thats literally the worst thing that can happen. except him saying yes I guess...cause then I have to go home and sit on my couch for a few hours...then get up again, get dressed...whats too fancy? Where is the line between hot and slut? Do you like nice clothes or functional clothes? What colors do you want at our wedding? How much make-up? Hair? shoes? The fuck do we talk about? How do I come off like I haven't been staring at you for a semester? Do you know this is a date or do you think im just being nice? Are you just being nice? Whats our first born child's name going to be? Should I go early and be waiting? Should I be late and act like this is no big deal? Did I get the time right? The location? Do I tell my friends? keep it a secret? Should I even go? Is it too late to cancel? Will I loose the deposit on the reception hall? Dont you have something better to do? Someone better to do? why me? Why did you say yes? What are your motives? What if its cold? Should I bring a jacket? which purse? Then again.... It would be really sad to only get one answer when I have so many questions.
I wish our lives where recorded so we could go back and relive the wonderful moments and realize the horrible ones weren't quite as bad as we make them out to be. but mostly I want to be able to stare at my math professor for as long as I want without the fear of being caught.
can we talk about whitney engen for a little bit? thanks
