A Long Way From Home - Jason and Andrew

He never thought he’d come home like this. He never thought he’d come home period. The memories of these streets were like a plague on the young vampires mind. They were thoughts he didn’t want to linger on. Yet, out of loyalty to his Sire he had come. He knew Quinn would never ask this of Andrew were the task not important. While his Sire rarely showed the fledgling he cared he knew he did and the man knew just how much pain this place held for him. He’d witnessed almost every second of the end of Andrew’ previous life. A life that by the end was happily abandoned in replace for the one his Sire had offered.
Yet, now, as he wandered the street annoyed that who he had come to meet was several days behind schedule the life he’d had lived here latched onto his mind like a leech to his skin. Funny, he couldn’t help but think at the thought considering how his kind were often referred to as such. He knew he was just using these wandering thoughts to distract himself from the present. To distract on how his feet so naturally walked the streets from memory. Occasionally he came across a change in the path. A new crossing. A new dead end. Yet at the core these were the streets of his childhood.
Then suddenly he felt a tug within him. A sense of deja vu causing his eyes to look up his body paused in its lazy wanderings. He knew this street. Yet the sight was strange to his eyes like something was wrong... Then it all hit him. Like a bucket of ice cold water thrown at his face. His eyes wide and turning to look across the row at one three floored building. He looked past the truck, the people on the street, the workmen and all other hustle and bustle before that building and just... looked at the stone. The windows. The frame. He knew that building, this street, even more so then any other he had walked today.
A shaky breath left his lips. This building he now gaze across the road at... was none other that his family home... Well, what had been his family home, he thought eyes taking in the street more so again. The bustle of people and the scatter of life. No longer was this street a place of homes but had exploded with store fronts and now his old home seemed to be taking shape into nothing other than a restaurant. It seemed like a fancy place. Well, not too fancy as it seemed to also hold this homely Italian vibe. It all felt so... disturbing for Andrew. No matter how much he understood that life moved on. No matter how much he accepted the fact it had been him to abandon this place he couldn’t ignore the unsettled feeling in his chest.
In fact he was so distracted by it he did not notice the presence of a man stepping up beside him until taking a breath from the whole thing. When he did see him Andrew jumped turning on his heels and taking a step back. It had been so long since the young vampire had been caught off guard. He was use to it from Quinn but- That was when Andrew noticed something about the man now by him. The pale glance to his skin. The predator look to his eyes that he’d seen grown in his own after- “Oh” he accidentally said out loud as it clearly clicked to him he was faced with another vampire. Andrew easily gathered himself straightened his previously slightly slumped form and shoved his hands into his pockets as he faced the other. “Can I help you with something, Sir?”
