Bio/Story:

Terence Fletcher is a middle aged jazz big band professor at the prestigious Schaffer Conservatory in New York. His main instrument is the piano. He is narcissistic, manipulative, stand-offish, and, frankly, a real asshole. Fletcher’s goal is to shape the next “great” jazz musician of the 21st century, no matter the cost. Aside from his *delightful* personality, Fletcher is prone to throwing chairs and offensive quips alike to his students as a method of drawing out “greatness”. His most promising student, 19 year old drummer Andrew Neiman, is a particularly annoying thorn in his side, but he sees promise in him.

Internally, Fletcher is a bit of a recluse. He doesn’t like to interact with people when it isn’t business/music related. He has a few old friends and bandmates, but doesn’t keep anyone close. Possibly on the spectrum but absolutely refuses to admit it or get tested for it.

Fletcher has some skeletons in his closet, and there’s a soul inside him somewhere if you decide to dig deep enough ; )

Family:

Divorced. Has 1 adult daughter who he rarely sees. As a husband and father for a brief period, he wasn’t around much at all. His focus was (and still is) almost always on jazz, performing, teaching, and his quest to find the next jazz great.

hey just checking in, seeing how you’re all settling in on tumblr, etc etc, also wondering how fletcher got home last night considering that i just found his keys on my kitchen counter but he definitely never texted me looking for them and hasn’t answered my own texts about it yet???? where did you sleep??? honey

Fletcher sent me seven texts in the middle of the night and then rang the house doorbell twice when I didn’t answer them. Brahm let him inside and Fletcher did not have an answer for where his keys were. Insisted it would “sort itself out”. Don’t know what that means. Don’t know how he got back to the LSFS house in the first place. But we’re figuring out Tumblr okay so far, thanks for checking in June. xx

Is that where they were??? Couldn’t find them in your sofa. Thought if they weren’t there then I left them in the booth at Nando’s. They have my number and they’ve had to call me to come get them before, that’s what I mean by sorting itself out, Maverick.

Fletcher not only rang the doorbell twice even though we have a key hidden outside specifically for this reason but he proceeded to eat all my Cinnamon Toast Crunch after I went back to sleep and put the empty box BACK in the cabinet for me to find this morning.

I see that I’m being called out here, @freyjahuntleigh. But IN MY DEFENSE, they did buy the next round of drinks after I broke it so they must have been sort of impressed and they did end up driving me to the hospital after that, so I could have been in worse company, yes? And I haven’t broken that specific ankle since, so I guess you could say I learned my lesson. 😎
