It was love at first sight… you never really forget your first :)

Summer Tour, so far...

Let's recap some tour bits so far.

The first night was Incendio and I finally got to play guitar again at a live show for the first time since my severe thumb injury that kept me out of action since February.

Well, I came back in typical JFF form sweating my ass off, breaking strings and giving the attendees my high energy rock n roll party that I just love to give. Also I debuted some great new songs. The crowd was so intense they were already singing along on choruses they had never heard before. We'll check that off as a win in the preverbal record books.

The next night at the library show in Monroeville PA I brought out some more new songs and played so hard I busted my strumming fingers open and bled all over my guitar and all over the floor where I was playing. No broken strings for this night or for the next night so that was a relief.

Later that night JP (@hrafnkel) made us pork tinga from Mexican Every Day by @rick_bayless. It was oh so good. I love tacos, especially when they are not typical. I can't remember how many I had.

We rolled into Akron, OH the next day. The sound system and stage are pretty much unrivaled here. I had some guitar problems so when I got midway through my set and played "Honeydukes" (yes, I said midway. I am no longer closing with that tune) I just unplugged my guitar and played to the audience dancing around the stage.

Afterwards we headed to the glorious House of Squib for a wild food filled after party. Melinda (@Squibgirl) made us venison tacos. Squibby's cooking is always the bees balls so obviously once again she nailed it. I love tacos, especially when they are not so typical, and these were soooo good I couldnt stop eating them!

For breakfast we piled all the taco fixings into some eggs and ate like assholes (@tonksntheaurors) just a little more.

For lunch we stopped at Skyline Chili. I had their specialty hot dog. The chili on the dog tasted a lot like the lentil bean chili I like to make at home.

That night we played at a Yule Ball in Mooresville, IN. We all danced my hot new dance called "the Hufflepizza.". Expect an awesome post tour music video, guys.

This awesome energetic group of kids told me after my set that my "goofiness is adorable." Um, do I check that off in the win column? Sure, why not.

Afterwards a boy, age 14, came to me for dating advice/relationship advice. Poor guy was a little distraught because his "date" didn't even last a day. He told me he's had his heart broken 4 times already. Being such an experienced man with the ladies, haha, I ended my advice piece by telling him "women are a labyrinth, my friend." He seemed happy, relieved, and also confused. Ooops.

After driving a bit that night, we wandered into a sketchy dive bar called Jim's Liquor Beer unsuccessfully looking for food but were referred to a truck stop diner instead.

Had a killer BLT, man. You'd think those things were unfuckupable but in my years of touring I've seen some craptastic BLTs. Not this night though. She was a gorgeous masterpiece full of bacon, tomatoes, and lettuce - hold the mayo please.

Tuesday night brought us back to the awesome wizard rock fans of St Louis! StL is consistently truly one of the hottest wizard crowds in history. I'd play here every night if it was feasible. I was bleeding again and in a lot of pain but couldn't break a string to save my life. Don't get me wrong, it's a good thing, but on my last strummings of my last song I got so crazy that I should have broken strings.

Then we went to Brandi and David's house for dinner. Brandi (@angrybedazzler), like all good chefs cooks with her heart. She's so good and nails every dish she's ever let me enjoy. Last night she made a vegetable stir fry with pot stickers and rice and lots of love.

We're off to Manhattan, KS now for another killer show. I'm really happy to be back out on the road and being able to physically play some classics and also some great new songs from my soon to be released "and the Deathly Pizza" cd.
