Will YU-Card Service issue a cheque when I requests a refund for my Flex Dollars? There is no information with regards to refunding Flex funds on their website...

They don’t refund Flex dollars as far as I know, you’ll have to spend them when you’re at York, or you can go to the YU card office and ask them.

do bookstore dollar and flex dollars transfer into the next year even if i withdraw and return?

Scholar dollars are valid till the expiry of your YU card, and Flex dollars will remain on your YU card into the next year as well. There shouldn’t be an issue with your Scholar + Flex dollars if you withdraw and return, but I can’t really confirm because I haven’t been in that situation.

I lost my student card. Can I use the money that's on it to pay the replacement fee.

Possibly (only if you have flex dollars), but you should freeze your account immediately if you’ve lost your card! http://yucard.info.yorku.ca/get-your-yu-card/replacing-a-lost-yu-card/Go to the YU card office on Monday and talk to them about your replacement card.

Can I use flex dollars that are on my York student card in the bookstore? Like use half of the amount on my student card and the rest cash?

Yes, and yes you can do that.

This might be a dumb question but Is there any way to convert meal Plan money into flex dollars?

Not that I’m aware of. Meal plan dollars are different than flex in the sense that, they expire at the end of the year so you have to use them up. Flex dollars don’t expire and carry over to the next year.

You need to go to the YU card office to get a refund*.

I don't want to sound stupid, but i do believe there isn't such thing as a dumb question. On my yorku card i received 500 under scholarship and bursaries. This amount isn't under flex so if i wanted to use this bursary to buy books, can i just swipe my card and it would work or do i need to transfer the funds from scholarships and bursaries to my flex somehow? If so, how do i do this? (I'm probably overthinking this wayyyy to much)

You don’t need to transfer anything (I don’t think you even can online), you would just need to swipe your card - which the cashiers sometimes do for you when you use your YU card.

hey to renew your meal plan do you just go to the yu card office & get the sticker replaced? my meal plan has funds and everything but some places are taking food costs out of my flex dollars because the sticker still says 2014/15, but i couldnt find anything about it on the yu card site or in your tags. thank you!!

The meal plan sticker shouldn’t affect that. They should be taking it out of the Meal Plan (and not Flex) regardless. The sticker is for exempting you from paying the taxes on what you’re buying. I would check into why that’s happening.

Though, to answer your question about the sticker itself: Yes, you can either go to the YU Card office to get a replacement sticker for 15/16, or you can ask around Residence to see if there’s a place around that has them. They might have them in the Porter station or somewhere closer.
