family&childhood.
felicity, or flick as she's known to most people, lived with her mum and older sister in an open, loving household until she was eight, when luciana died in a car accident that flick was also in, though she survived with minimal injuries. before the accident, her childhood had been a good one, occasionally punctured by the minimal visits she had with her father. her parents divorced when her mum was still pregnant with her, and she preferred to rarely see him. her mum was incredibly loving and open, she instilled good values in her children, teaching them to be good, kind, loving people who never judged others, teaching them about freedom, fighting for the underdog, and to be themselves no matter what. she was a free spirit, and she could cook a delicious mexican meal in a second. with her mother, flick had a good childhood because she had someone who was there for her no matter what, who supported her love of books, and her curiousity. she once told her primary school teacher that she wanted to learn everything about everything. she never felt out of place in her life, or odd. she was happy. that was before.
after her mum died, flick went to live with her dad. she already had a number of issues with her father, due to his abandonment of her before she was even born, and what visits they did have growing up weren't exactly anything special at all. though he gained custody of flick, he pretty much wanted to do with her, and bordered on being emotionally abusive a lot of the time. because of this, flick withdrew into herself, she became quite a quiet girl who didn't speak up a lot, and she didn't do a lot apart from go to school, and spend time alone in her room. no matter how hard flick tried, she never managed to get her father's love. her father seemed obsessed with his image, and being as successful and normal and white as possible, and flick could never figure out why. it was worse with his partner, who was an incredibly superficial woman that looked down her nose at the half-mexican flick. she felt like an invader in her own home, and that was besides the strange things that seemed to happen to her from time to time.
the moment felicity was visited by professor longbottom, and he told her that she was a witch, she had hope that her life might finally get better. her father put on his nice, friendly 'dad' front while the professor talked to them, and she was naive enough to think that things might actually be different. it lasted right up until the professor left the house, where, after her dad checked that no one in their little cul-de-sac noticed anything, and that his wife and son had not yet arrived home, he told her that if she chose to be a witch and go to hogwarts, then he didn't want her in the house, and not to contact them again. she had a month to sort it all out, decide if she wanted to stay in her miserable life and please her dad, or escape to a world where she knew nothing and no one, and maybe that wasn't such a bad idea. eventually, she decided that she was going, she deserved to go. it was what her mum would have told her to do, in a heartbeat. she contacted professor longbottom herself, telling him that her father was working so he couldn't accompany them to get her school things, when he took felicity to the most incredible shopping centre she'd ever seen, she knew she'd made the right decision. she didn't tell her dad until the first of september, after she'd spent weeks packing away all her stuff, and getting ready to leave together. she was still holding out some piece of hope that her dad would change his mind, and love her, like she'd always wished, but instead he told her goodbye. she was on her own.
thankfully, she remembered what professor longbottom told her about getting to the school train, and she was so in awe of the gleaming steam train and the fact that she'd just run through a solid wall, that she didn't even realise that a ginger man was trying to offer to help her lift her heavy bags onto the train. He helped her with a smile, and then she headed down the train to find a place to sit, thanking her obsessive need to always be early to everything for the fact that she was able to find an empty compartment to sit. flick wasn't alone for long, before she was joined by a few people who would become her best friends, and suddenly she not only had a new world, but friends too.
youth.
with her personality, flick was a perfect fit for ravenclaw. one of the biggest reasons, wasn't necessarily her intelligence, but her curiousity. she was always asking questions, why this, why that, who did what, and she always persevered to find out what she wanted. in ravenclaw, she finally found a place where she could ask any question, and instead of being told to be quiet, or that no one cares, or even just ignore her. instead, people would answer with their own knowledge, or stay up and help her look until they found a satisfactory answer. at hogwarts, she could finally come out of her shell and into her own, slowly learn to get over how conditioned she was to be quiet and be nothing at her father's house. she finally wasn't just the quiet nerd girl, for the first time since her mother died, she was happy, she had real friends, a lot of them. it was the first time she could really be herself. she opened up more, slowly started to speak up in class, and, due to her friendship with the Weasley-Potter family, she was exposed to the wider wizarding world, and immediately included her in the so-called 'brat pack'.
during her first year, flick tried to hide the fact that her dad kicked her out from all of her friends and everyone. rose invited her home for christmas, and then when she finished the year, she just planned on staying in a hotel until she could figure something out. her mother's family in mexico was well off, so she had a good amount of money inherited from after she died, so she didn't have to worry a huge amount, at least not at the time. that didn't exactly matter though, because after breaking down right in front of weasley wizard wheezes, the weasley's found out, and hermione and ron weasley invited her to stay with them indefinitely - ron is a weasley after all. with the weasley's, she finally felt like she had a real family, and they always made her feel like their family.
being a part of the 'brat pack' and dealing with the popularity was definitely not something that came naturally to flick. being an honorary weasley meant she attracted a lot of attention, and one of the reasons she tried not to let it bother her was because she didn't know what she would have done if she didn't meet rose. the weasleys gave her so much, it wasn't really a burden to put up with it all.
from the moment flick got on a broom in first year, she was captivated. her friends had explained quidditch to her, but it wasn't until she actually got on a broom that she understood why someone would want to do something so crazy. she loved the rush of flying high, and she had an instant natural talent and instinct for flying and for the game. she was flying with the weasley's during summer break after first year, and didn't realise that the ravenclaw quidditch captain lived in the village too, and was watching her play. she offered flick a provisional place on the team as soon as there was an opening chaser position. as soon as that happened, she was the ravenclaw star chaser ever since, as well as captain in her seventh year.
along with quidditch, flick did very well in her classes at hogwarts, and enjoyed them a lot because she loved to learn everything she could. she fully intended to take every class available to her in third year, until hermione talked her out of it. flick was usually the one trying to get her friends to focus during study sessions, and she was so good at explaining concepts that a future career in teaching was brought up multiple times, but flick always knew that being a teacher wouldn't be for her.
adult life.
the problem with being so good at so many things was that she wasn't sure where to focus for the future. flick always knew that she wanted to do something important, and after lengthy discussions with teachers, members of the weasley family, and friends parents, she decided she wanted to study law. she didn't go straight into after graduating from hogwarts, though. instead, she finally went travelling, something she'd always wanted to do. after getting into contact with her mum's previously estranged sister in california, flick studied law and eventually returned to england, deciding to work for a non-profit advocacy organisation.

flick is stunningly gorgeous, with olive skin, thick glossy dark hair, and a charming, if slightly mischievous, smile. the press really loved her, the mysterious new muggle-born who was always with the weasleys.
observations.
though flick is quite a friendly girl, but can be quite closed off and can take a little while to really open up and trust people. she's got a strong personality, and her thirst for knowledge only furthers her to learn about the world and the way it should be. she's passionate about all sorts of issues, and stopped eating meat when she was twelve, and loves to enlighten people about what she cares about. she's not entirely worried about offending anyone, and she's very outspoken because she knows what's right and what is wrong.
connections.
the age gap between flick and her siblings is quite large, on both sides, so she has never been close with either of them. there is seven years between her and her older sister, morgan ramos, so when their mum died, morgan opted to finish school in america. due to flick's detatched nature while living with her father, she practically lost contact with morgan, and then completely did while she was at hogwarts. eventually, morgan returned to england and got in touch with her sister again. after a rocky start, morgan became a part of her life again, but flick never reconciled with her father.
her half-brother, colby donnelly, is six years younger than her, and their relationship is almost non-existent. he was a baby when she first moved in with them, and so all the attention was on him, and it pretty much always remained that way.
affections.
through her fifth and some of her sixth year, flick dated brodie cooper, a gryffindor the year above her. their relationship had a lot of ups and downs, and flick found herself hurt quite a bit throughout the time they dated. her friends weren't shy about how they felt about her boyfriend and that they didn’t like him, but she just couldn't see it until she was out of the relationship. there was just a lot of drama, and looking back, she knew the relationship wasn't good or healthy.
the only other person that flick ever really had anything ongoing with was noah miller, one of hugo weasley's bandmates, and somewhat of a rival of hers. they had a strange, not quite friendship rivalry ever since first year, always trying to best each other at everything. they were super competitive no matter what they did, including who was the better chaser on the ravenclaw quidditch team, and there was always that underlying tension of something more between the two of them. by the time they were both graduating, they were reluctantly calling each other friends, and even kissed once in the head of the moment. unfortunately, noah was dating someone, and flick went off travelling. when she got back home, noah was single, and she was dating someone she'd met overseas, who almost immediately picked up on the feelings between them. flick called noah out on his snark, clearly jealous, and told him he had no right since they were never together. noah ended up making a big declaration - all while on stage with his band, and they finally got together.
