Join Rainbow Direction and help create Safe Spaces for LGBTQ+ fans at Niall Horan’s Flicker Sessions Tour 2017
Rainbow Direction is a project launched by takemehomefromnarnia for One Direction’s Where We Are & On The Road Again and now also their perspective solo tours. The project aims to raise visibility and support for all LGBTQ+ fans. We want to build a safe, welcoming and supportive community for One Direction’s LGBTQ+ fans across the world.
The homophobia in the One Direction fandom often makes LGBTQ+ fans feel unwelcome and invisible in the world. Through project ‘Rainbow Direction’ we aim to change that. We want to speak out, stand up proudly and make ourselves known. We want to show who we are and just how many of us there are, all around the globe and by doing so educate those who might not know about the project.
Rainbow Direction is about bringing rainbows (or other sexuality/gender flags) to the solo shows of the One Direction memmbers to show visible support for LGBTQ+ fans. This post is full of great examples of what participants have done in the past.
It can be banners, signs or flags of any size (even if they are just tiny handheld flags on sticks); shirts - selfmade or from our official store; accessories, makeup, face or body paint, nail polish, jewelry, crafts like rainbow pinwheels, rainbow candy you give out to people and whatever you can and want to come up with. You can ask others whose ideas you liked if you can use them or create your own individual one. The more ideas the better! It doesn’t have to be big or expensive; every rainbow (or other sexuality/gender flag) counts!
Niall Horan announced his very first, very own solo shows starting end of August 2017 and we, of course, want those just to feel as safe for LGBTQ+ fans of his as you guys managed to make One Direction’s OTRA tour dates in 2015.
Are you planning to go to any of Niall’s Flicker Session shows in 2017? Want to bring your rainbows or pride colours with you and make your fellow LGBTQ+ Niall Horan and One Direction fans feel welcome and safe? Then you should represent Rainbow Direction for your show and do exactly that!
