There was barely any time that had transpired since the first signs of betrayal at Phoenix Gate that the Undying were at the scene, but they kept themselves in the Shadows. While the Phoenix was paramount, until it was certain that the Phoenix had survived the assault, the servants would act to sustain their numbers as high as possible. All aspects of Ancestral Communion would wait and depend on the results of their investigation.
Once the Imperials had left the area and had departed for a long enough time, a group of three would emerge from what portion of the forest remained since of the clash between the Eikons of fire.
“Are you sure it was right to bring Jote here? She has only recently passed all of the trials and has taken the creed.” A female voice remarked, wrought with concern and worry as she turned her head toward the other tall figure.
“She’ll be fine. Besides, following this assault, there is a high possibility that Rosaria will be in jeopardy. Jote will search for the Phoenix while you and I examine the remains and we’ll decide what to do from there.” A male voice responds, turning his attention from the other tall figure to the smaller figure in between the two of them.
“Do you understand Jote? You will search for the Phoenix. If he is still alive, you will do all in your power to ensure that he stays alive. If he has died, report back and lead us to his body.” The male stated calmly, keeping his focus on the smaller figure, though his peripheral vision would scan the surroundings.
“Understood.” The smaller figure answers immediately before she travels deeper into the fortress while the two tall figures search through the areas closest to the gate that the Imperials entered through for the start of their betrayal to examine the depth of lost Rosarian lives and the potential implications it has for the duchy as a whole.
