Howdy Folks! It’s the weekend and if you’re looking for something do in the Los Angeles area then come on down to the opening reception of @galleries1988 ‘Idiot Box’! A wondrous show dedicated to the golden era of television…(2001 ⬆️). I also happen to have a piece in the show inspired by @showtime 2021 hit series ‘Yellowjackets’ ( @shoyellowjackets ) featuring a huge ensemble cast including (but not limited to): Christina Ricci, Juliette Lewis , Melanie Lynskey Tawny Cypress, Alexa Barajas, Courtney Eaton, Ella Purcell, Liv Hewson, Jane Widdop, Jasmine Savoy Brown, Keeya King, Kevin Alves, Luciano Leroux, Samantha Hanratty, Sophie Thatcher, Sophie Nélisse, Steven Kruger, Warren Cole,…and SO many more. I created a ‘narrative’ illustration telling parts of the story that resonated with me from the first season. Showtime’s production is nothing less than brilliant at creating an ominous atmosphere for these ill-fated teens. If you came of age in the late 90’s (specifically 1996), this will definitely evoke some nostalgia in design and music. All of this is secondary to the amazing job done with casting, and directing, so check it out if you have #Showtime.
