011. How would your character court the person of their dreams? ;)
100 random character development questions!
Once Yippie has dedicated himself to the person, he's both earnest and annoying. He often will be seen trying to help them, looking out for them, and making sure to memorize important dates and things they like. He's open about his attraction and quite happy to show off for them, even if this means putting himself in danger. Yippie tries to make them laugh or at least join in on a bit of banter, he wants to make them comfortable.
However, his need to please can often be a bit overbearing and he's ended up pushing people away because of it.
He's fond of crafting gifts by hand and enjoys spending time next to them. He craves physical contact, even simple hand-holding or leaning against one another. Much like a puppy who only wishes to please, Yippie can be rather annoying, but he means only the best.
“I don’t think you should be messing with it.”
A cough rattled out of him, Yippie's hand pressing against his sloppily bandaged middle. It hurt, and he was still dripping blood to the grass at their feet. "Well, easy for ya to say," The cowboy spat, shaking when he leaned against a tree, needing a moments reprieve.
"This is the last time I trust Davis with any time-sensitive intel," His smirk fell short when he received a glare from Viper at the mention of their once rivals. "Relax, darl. They don't mean any harm. It's just business. Accidents happen."
He wheezed and pressed his chin down into the warmth of his bandanna before explaining, "We're almost back with Sonic, I'll be fine. I can hear ya worryin' that pretty little head of yers. But if ya could help me get from point A to B, I'd be mighty appreciative," Yippie was slouched, looking pale and dizzy. His words slurred with exhaustion and bloodloss as he once more asserted, "I'll be fine."

Yippie had the date memorized. He barely remembered his own, but Viper's and Sonic's birthdays were always on his mind. He stressed over what to do for them - material things meant little to their group anymore, so the cowboy spent much of his free time mastering a new art in hopes of offering a decent gift, one that actually expressed something.
"Rule one of bein' a cowboy," Yippie explained, holding a finger up for emphasis, "Never forget. Ever." The smile that bloomed across his features was bright and playful, the crow's feet by his eyes wrinkling as he watched Viper closely. The glow from his optics soothed him, yellow was such a happy color. One of Yippie's favorites.
"Nah, no cake. I'm too old to gain any weight," He pats at his middle before slipping a hand into the inner pocket of his vest. "I uh..." Sheepish suddenly, Yippie's fingers on his other hand dance nervously against Viper's shoulder as he held the man comfortably against his side. "I made ya somethin'," He finally spat out, features turning a bit pink.
He wasn't a child, but something about the gesture made him feel young again. Shy. Unsure. Maybe Viper would love it? Maybe he'd hate it? He carefully wrapped his fingers around the object that he'd spent hours fiddling with, trial and error; until it looked decent enough to present.
Hell, Yippie was even kind of proud of it.
His heart coiled with anxiety and hope as he carefully pulled out the statue, balancing it in the warm palm of his hand. It was a horse made out of copper wire, with a golden mane and a peaceful, grazing pose. It was simplistic but carefully made so that no stray wires could poke or break off. He'd even managed to get it to balance perfectly, staying upright even as he put his hand closer towards Viper's chest.
"I know it ain't much but... figured somethin' homemade would mean more these days," His smile was sincere and tinted with embarrassment. "I tried to make a snake... gonna take more practice..."
“ i am being perfectly fucking civil. ”
"No, ya ain't," Yippie strained, holding Viper back with an arm wrapped around his chest and shoulder. "Listen, they didn't mean it, they're just drunk," He whispered harshly, hat askew and voice slurring softly with alcohol.
"C'mon, I got tough skin. Nothin' they say will hurt me," That was a lie, but he was too damn old to care about what the kids thought these days. "Viper, relax," The cowboy gave the pilot a tug for good measure, "Sit back down. They're not worth yer time."
‘ do you miss anyone? ’
The cowboy was busy fixing the fraying edges of his lasso when the question hit him. His nose twitched as he made a face, lips thinning with discontent. "Miss anyone?" Yippie repeated quietly, thumbing the rope as he applied a waxy oil to it before tying the frayed edge closed. "Don't we all?" He chuckled, shaking his head briefly.
“Can you look at it for me?”

Yippie's eyes about popped out of his head as he took in the sight before him. How the other pilot was even still up on his feet and walking around was astounding. "Christ almighty, what the hell did ya do this time?" He cursed, rounding onto Viper carefully before wrapping an arm around his shoulders and leading the older pilot to a suitable seat.
"Now, stop squirmin', yer lookin' like a stuck pig," The cowboy said in a voice that was all too serious and not at all playful. "How did The Lady let ya walk from this one? This is terrible." He could clearly see through the other's leg -- some part of Yippie was thankful for the man's lack of a fleshy body, but it was still unsettling to comprehend. "How in the hell -- ya know what, it doesn't matter right now. How can I help?" He lifted his gaze, features pinched in honest concern.
