Meet Waikawa,  one of only 126 kakapo left in the world. I was lucky enough to have this little lady adopted for me in November last year. With rimu seeds looking to be plentiful supply for the next breeding season, she'll hopefully have new baby relatives arriving next year! The above picture is Sirocco, the Kakapo parrot, one of the rarest parrots on Earth with less than 150 in the wild.

Today the Kakapo can only be found in New Zealand and are fat, flightless parrots.

Sirocco is the mascot for the Kakapo Recovery Programme (Found here: http://www.kakaporecovery.org.nz/) and is well known for his sexual advances towards a zoologist in front of Stephen Fry.
