Been a while since I posted a political post. Mainly because it's stupid classifying people into black and yellow. I refuse to be labelled as such. We are not the US. Stop trying to be all yellowtard vs dutertard emulating "democrat vs republican" its such a social mountaineering elitist move. We are all Filipinos and yet each "side" has taken to itself to classify each other as a lesser being than the other. You see we are divided and no side is backing off as they think they are both right. It all depends on the vantage point. You need to place yourself at the other's shoes to understand them. Yet, there are individuals that would let you choose for a side. There is no permanent side if there was one to be chosen. But there is one side that our fallen heroes have chosen: the side of the Filipinos. In the UK, (after several marathons of Netflix's The Crown) the dignified and the efficient work together for the people. Honor is placed first. In this country there is no such thing. Elected officials are not "serving" the country. SONA's in the past are proof of that: the travesty of them parading their dresses like rockstars or monarchs. We are a republic. An efficient driven government yet our public servants act like dignified monarchs when they are no more than commoners and thieves put all together for a circus that forms this nations government. Undignified blatant display of riches. The difference with the UK monarchy? The standard of living is higher in the UK. The Monarchy stands as an ideal. A model for the people to strive for. Aside from their titles, as a role model, they show something highly attainable: wealth, culture, attitude, and faith. In this country, the standard of living is so low. A public servant who has amassed wealth through legal or illegal ways is not the question. When people are starving, and public servants has the audacity to flaunt their financial status, they are not emulating an ideal for the people to strive for. This is basically showing off they are different from the poor. This country's dignified public servants are nowhere to be found. Believing your party is dignified is utter folly. Killings? Both colors are responsible for killings. Whether they are alleged drug pushers or poor farmers, you can't question there were innocent people that lost their lives. Like the pot calling the kettle black. Extra judicial killings vs Hacienda Luicita, Mendiola, Mamasapano Massacre. Who decides which is worse? The sheer numbers? The innocence of those killed? The reason they were killed? If there is no dignity, there is no honor, there is no force that will drive our public servants to be efficient: to be on top of their game and actually serve the public to the most of their capabilities. No. Projects are not well planned, and executed. Officials "visit" tragedy stricken provinces for photo ops. Urgent projects are delayed. Enacted projects lack quality. To top it off, they cost more than they should. In the end, when dignity and efficiency is not present on most government officials, we, the Filipino people, loses. What do we do? We become dignified. We educate ourselves. We become honorable. We enact and contribute to our community. We strive hard not to be better than other people but to be better than our former selves. We fight for our individual ideals not the ideals of the reigning political colors available shoved in our throats. We only see the darkness in the other side. We are humans. There is no purely good or purely evil side. It is always a mixture of both, like the efficient and the dignified, and as a republic, our politicians are tasked with both. Until we accept this, until the time we acknowledge the great works done, not just the wrong doings, then we as a people has failed being a dignified Filipino. And when honor is at the core of each of our public servants, they will be driven. They will be efficient. They will be an asset to the people of this country. It isn't even about not choosing a side and being in the middle. It is about choosing to be a Filipino more than being a yellowtard or a dutertard. Let's start with ourselves: To be a Filipino first before being a Bicolano, or a Kapampangan, or a Bisaya or wherever you hailed from. Be a Filipino first above everything else, and the rest will follow. footnote: this should've been just a short post -____-
