Gandolf is our oldest dog at 16 year old. He was not hid normal self and had a swollen stomach, so we took him to the vet as we thought he just ate something he shouldn't have. It turns out that he has pancreatitis and had to stay the night. We just got off the phone with the vet and he is doing great, he is wagging his stump and eating a little bit.
