Very soon we will be releasing the Flinger.co Remote App for Windows 8, which will allow you to share URLs directly from Windows 8's native share button. The Flinger.co Remote App for Windows 8 will also offer a full-screen remote control user interface.
Flinger.co is currently account-less to remove any friction between sharing. So invite your friends to your unique 6-digit Flinger channel and fling content to each others screens. An unlimited number of remotes can control an unlimited number of screens.
This project was created to bring the features of Chromemote to a larger audience. Also this project is largely the result of our participation in the Microsoft Imagine Cup Accelerator for 2013. Our team, Mote Labs, was one of the top 15 teams in the US, and Microsoft flew us out to Silicon Valley for a week long startup boot-camp back in March.

Apart of the competition requirements were to build our project on Microsoft technologies. We were kind of shocked to have even advanced in the competition to the boot-camp phase considering our app, Chromemote, is built entirely on the Google stack for Google users. (Google Web Toolkit, Chrome API)
Since the Google TV tools do not allow for Chrome OS support in Chromemote and many users have requested this support, I had been looking into building my own web platform for moving away from the Chrome to Google TV plugin causing this limitation.
During the Microsoft boot-camp we decided to make a pivot beyond Google TV only and to build something from the ground up that brings one of the funnest features of Chromemote to just about any platform with a web browser.
Thanks to the amazing support from Microsoft, the Chromemote contributors, and countless hours this past month have made this dream a reality.
Flinger.co was built using Microsoft WebMatrix and Visual Studio and is running on Windows Azure's cloud services. The original Flinger.co Remote application was designed and built for Windows 8 and will be available in the coming weeks. A companion Flinger.co Remote app will also be available for Windows Phone 8 very soon.
On top of this we wanted to stay true to our Google users and we have launched a Google Chrome extension that is compatible with Chrome OS. Look forward in the not too distant future for iOS and Android Flinger.co Remote apps. Until this we have made available a web app Fligner.co Remote. On any device you can navigate to http://remote.flinger.co/ to access the web app remote.
We have so much more planned going forward. We want to make sure we are on the right path, so please share your feedback.
