So I've been working on training the flip finish with Ivan because I had heard that for dogs with shorter backs, or more square-shaped dogs, it looks nicer than a wrap finish. But after reviewing my notes from a training seminar last year, it was suggested to teach it depending on the dog's natural inclination (throw a ball and see which way the dog turns when bringing it back. If they turn right, teach a wrap finish. If they turn left teach a flip finish) So I realized I am teaching Ivan to turn left when he naturally likes to turn right. He's doing well so I'll probably just keep going with the flip finish anyway. So many details to think about!
