Ok, listen, this absolutely won’t happen, but if I could design my own Social Media app, this would be it.
Flipr! To flip through your tags.
Although I’m personally fond of the setup that Twitter and Tumblr and Instagram have, all these are very follow-the-author social media bases. Meaning, you follow people, and you only see what they post, with some tags on the side for organizing.
But what if it was (wait for it...) flipped?
What if you primarily followed tags, maximizing your new content, and ALSO had the option to track people’s personal tags on the side to keep up with your friends?
Authors, artists - we always moan and groan about how you can’t really get yourself OUT THERE because everyone just follows popular people. But what if we prioritized tags/content over poster?
Anyway, y’all are allowed to come at me and rip my concept apart. I welcome it. I just think this was a fun little exercise to try and design an app interface.
