Want Solid Feminist Media? Watch Frankie Drake Mysteries
Title character is independent, savvy, adventurous, somehow all without being a mary sue. And she sees a therapist (well a priest, but it's the 20s and entirely non-religious in nature).
Black female partner who gets just as much screen time and back story, is integral in solving the mysteries, and gives a look into black Canadian history we never hear about.
A morgue attendant who is unapologetically fat and always enjoying her suitors. She's also the funniest character and talks about her love of pathology in such a nerdy, realistic way.
A morality officer who is the young, excited one, and heavily autistic-coded. She loves structure and order and is very good at figuring things out in her own way. She loves baseball.
A female recurring antagonist who runs her business ruthlessly. Her gender is never a topic.
The Chinese community are frequently included as information resources or friends, with the heroines often shown enjoying Chinese food together.
None of this snarky, insulting each other for humor stuff. These women compliment each other constantly. It is. So refreshing.
Also the costumes are awesome, 1920s fashion is fun, what can I say
Just watch Frankie Drake Mysteries for some good Canadian feminist media, you won't regret it.

I love one thing in particular about Frankie Drake: not one damn person (at least thru s2 which is as far as I am) has said anything fatphobic about Flo.
In fact not only that but so far nothing about the show has even commented about her weight. She’s a fully fledged character who has romances (more than Mary even), had a husband who died mysteriously in the war, dresses fashionably, and helps solve cases. Mary even crowded her in one ep out of her seat and not one damn comment was made.
I love her
