Flower of a Poisonous Seed is a lmk fanfic made by @autism-autobot I personally absolutely love the story and I made a quick (and kinda sucky) drawing based off it!
Warning if you plan on reading the story, Shadowpeach is not the main aspect of FoPS. It is a part of the lore but it's definitely not the main thing going on. (I'm pretty sure). I just decided why not make some art about the very toxic relationship between Macaque and Wukong.
Either way, I recommend you read it, it's really in depth and has a lot of detail in the writing.
Drew Floaps Nezha and Wukong bc this silly cute au consumes my every waking moments
Put them in cute sweater :)
Wanted to draw Wukong in his wheelchair but... That shit hard, and I was like half asleep drawing these, so I settled for a cute headshot of him with a flower crown ❤️
I still wanna draw him in his wheelchair for the comic I've been wanting to make for this au...
Red Son had given Wukong the standing wheelchair and a few extra surprises for Mother's Day. Today was the day Wukong felt confident enough to try them out.
In addition to the standing chair, Wukong also got a wheelchair that could be moved using his legs. Both wheelchairs were made specifically to help Wukong's legs grow stronger and be more comfortable to use, as well as making the transition to walking smoother.
Wukong's hands wouldn't stop flapping as he was moved into a standing position by the new wheelchair. Red Son couldn't help but reciprocate.
Nezha was on a call with Erlang about Jinzha, so he only gave quick glances, but when he saw the happiness of his husband and son, he too joined in the hand flapping.
~~~
Wukong was excited to be able to reach higher up in the house. Everything was accessible one way or another, but it was nice to not have to use a grabber or a step ladder to reach the higher shelves.
Wukong had decided to make dinner for the family that he would sometimes not bother making because he just didn't want to bother reaching the higher shelves.
SWK: This is awesome! I love being upright again. My legs feel much better now too.
Nezha: Sitting for too long isn't good for anyone, believe me, I know.
SWK: It feels so weird after so long!
RS: Well, I hope you can get used to it again, Mum.
SWK: Of course I will, it'll just take me a bit.
Nezha: Everything will work out just fine for your Mum, Red, you don't need to worry.
SWK: Something tells me that you're worried. What's wrong?
Nezha: *takes deep breath* It's Jinzha. He's doing better, but now he's considered an 'at risk' pregnancy because of the baby's fast progression and the demand on Jinzha's body. He's taking many supplements, which have been helping, though.
SWK: Is he at home by himself?
Nezha: No, he's staying with Erlang. They were hoping that being outside of Heaven might make things progress slower, though it's unclear if it's making any difference.
Nezha: Being in the Mortal Realm also means that Jinzha is closer to his preferred medical facilities and staff of choice, which is a blessing all its own.
SWK: Well, at least he's being cared for.
RS: I'll bet your brother wishes my future cousin was more like you now, doesn't he?
Nezha: Yes. He's called me multiple times complaining and telling me he shouldn't have asked the baby to come quicker than I did. We never anticipated that the baby would be my opposite.
Nezha: He did say that he enjoys feeling the baby move, however. He said he's glad he didn't have to wait for that bit and that he practically screamed the first time he felt a tiny kick.
SWK: Awww! First kicks are always special!
RS: Tell Jinzha he's luck the baby isn't half-bull like me. Mother always told me that I was such a pain to carry.
SWK: Was she complaining about having been pregnant or complaining about you?
RS: Both. Which one it was depends on how our family was at the time she mentioned it.
SWK: *sighs*
RS: Don't worry, you set her straight.
RS: And maybe instilled a bit of fear into Baba in the process.
SWK: *looks at Nezha in surprise* Did I?
Nezha: I never wish to see two mothers fight like that again.
SWK: Oh, Nezha! I didn’t mean to scare you!
Nezha: I know. I'm not scared of you, just scared of what you're capable of.
Nezha: Very scared.
SWK: *genuinely worried* You know I'd never do anything like that to you, right?
Nezha: I do know. I trust you completely.
Nezha: But holy shit, I've never seen you do anything like that.
SWK: Fair enough, I may have gone a wee bit overboard.
Nezha: If Iron Fan ever tries to do anything to our son again, I want you to do that again but worse.
SWK: Will do! :D
Sitting on the floor was a bad idea.
Jinzha was on the floor making lists of things he had for the baby, and things he still needed to get. He usually sat on the floor when going over these things as it gave him more space to work.
Now he just needed to get up...
...but he was stuck.
Wukong had warned him about difficulties moving during the later stages of pregnancy but, as with many milestones, Jinzha hadn't anticipated it happening so soon. He could get up just fine yesterday!
Jinzha: Oi, little one, you are getting too big for your own good. You've only existed for two and a half months now!
Jinzha: *yelling* Can someone please help me up?!
Sounds of bootsteps were heard from most directions. Zhang was the first to reach him.
After a bit of interrogating on how and why Jinzha was on the floor, Zhang gently helped Jinzha onto the couch. The other Plum Hill Boys gathered shortly after, their own interrogations locked and loaded. Zhang luckily explained to all of them.
Li: *jokingly* Getting to be a big baba, aren't you?
Jinzha: *laughs* Yeah, seems so. Little one's growing every day. My midsection has been so stretched out it hurts.
Kang: *worried* How bad?
Jinzha: Not very. It's like a rubber band being stretched too far. I feel like I'm gonna pop at any moment.
Erlang: We have your delivery team on standby for when you do. Guanyin said with the progress you're making, you'll likely go into labor in two weeks or less.
Kang: *whistles, impressed* That's not a lot of time. You got everything ready?
Jinzha: Yes and no. Like Erlang said, the medical aspects are ready, but I have yet to get anything in the nursery ready, I have yet to get stocked up on diapers and formula, and... goodness, there's still so much to do and not enough time.
Zhang: Then call in the village! You have brothers and fathers ready to lend a hand.
Jinzha: I am not telling Father about my child. He does not deserve to know them.
Zhang: Who said anything about Li Jing?
Jinzha: ...
Jinzha: No way, Nezha would kill me.
Kang: Are you sure? We talked to him about it not long after you guys cut him off.
Jinzha: No, I could never steal you guys from him!
Erlang: I don't know if you've noticed, but there's seven of us and three of you. We have more than enough for you.
Jinzha: Well... only if you are 100,000% sure that Nezha won't mind. I am not stealing parental attention from him.
Erlang: We are absolutely certain.
~~~
Nezha: No, I don't mind, Jinzha! I'm happy to share them with you and Muzha. Slightly less with Muzha, but still.
Jinzha: *over the phone* Are you really sure? This is a big thing, and they've been your parents for so long-
TW: mentions of pregnancy, pregnancy complications, death,
Wukong was guided into a private dinner room with a large table with just enough seats for their growing family.
Most of the Plum Hill Boys sat around the table with untouched plates and silverware set before them. Erlang Shen showed Wukong, Nezha, and Red Son to their designated seats.
SWK: How long did it take you to come up with the seating chart?
Erlang: Too long. Way too long.
~~~
Wukong sat with Nezha to one side, and Red Son to the other. There was an empty chair meant for Jinzha between Nezha and Erlang. Muzha sat to Red Son's free side.
RS: Okay, so that one is Yang, right?
SWK: That's Yao. None of them are named Yang.
RS: I still can't get them all straight.
~~~
Nezha sensed Jinzha enter the building, but something was... off. He couldn't tell for certain, but it felt like Jinzha was... farther along than he should be?
Then Jinzha entered the room. Paler than he should be, sweating, slightly out of breath...
... and just noticeably swollen in the middle.
Nezha: Brother?!
Jinzha: *panting* Sorry for my tardiness, it was so hard for me to get out of the door this morning!
Nezha: Apologies aren't needed, Brother! Please, let me help you sit.
Jinzha: Of course. *sits with Nezha's help* Is the food ready yet? I haven't eaten yet.
Nezha: Food will be here soon. Are you feeling alright? You seem quite pale.
Jinzha: *stuttering* I just need food. I just need food.
Jinzha: The little one is growing faster than expected. They're demanding so much of me, it is so hard to keep up. All I do is sleep and eat.
Jinzha: And puke. A lot.
Erlang: Well, food will be here soon. And I don't think the matriarch of our family would mind if you are served first.
Jinzha: It is. I have spoken to my doctor and midwife about it. So far we're doing alright. The little one is safe. They're just growing rapidly. Quite the opposite of you, my littlest brother.
Nezha: But are you safe, Brother?
Jinzha: I'm not sure. I hardly ever feel well, though that might be the morning sickness. It's been hard to tell.
Jinzha: Oh! Brother!
Nezha: What?! What is it?!
Jinzha: *grabs Nezha's hand* *places it firmly on his midsection and holds it there*
Nezha's eyes went wide as he felt the tiniest little something hit his hand from within his brother's womb, likely the little one's foot or hand.
Nezha: Oh... how precious... oh gods...
Nezha: Hello in there, little one! It's your Uncle Nezha! It's so nice to meet you!
Jinzha: *woozy* Yeah... the little one likes y- *passes out* *flops to the side*
Nezha: *catches him* BROTHER!!!!!
Jinzha startled back awake. He was still quite pale and now breathed slow and soft. It took him a few moments to gain enough clarity to speak and respond.
Though he didn't exactly respond to an questions.
Jinzha: Food? Can I have food?
Erlang: Food is coming, I promise! Only a minute more. Here, drink some water.
Li: *hands Erlang a cold water bottle*
Jinzha: Food?
Erlang: Water. Here, drink. *helps Jinzha drink bit by bit*
Yao: The midwife is on her way here.
Erlang: Good. We'll need her advisement.
~~~
Jinzha had passed out likely from a vitamin deficiency, according to the midwife. He would have to be tested for it on a later date and be prescribed supplements.
The midwife explained that vitamin and deficiencies were common during pregnancy and that-
SWK: I could have told you that!
Erlang: Wukong, not now, please.
SWK: My children stole my damn calcium!
Erlang: Wukong.
Nezha: *trying reeeally not to laugh at Wukong's words*
RS: I didn't steal any!
SWK: Oh, yes you did!
RS: I only took what was freely given!
Nezha: *turns around to hide his laughter*
Food was given to Jinzha who, as soon as he realized he was being fed, took and scarffed down every last bite.
Jinzha was cleared to stay for dinner on the condition that he didn't go too long without food. Nezha didn't hear the exact time agreed, but Erlang promised to take point on Jinzha's care.
Muzha: Why can't Mr. Lee's class be this interesting?
RS: Because he teaches literacy.
~~~
Wukong was given a number of gifts by the family. Jinzha received a few gifts too, though did politely inform those who didn't know that he was a Baba, not a Mama.
He accepted them all the same.
Wukong and Jinzha were given necklaces that were nearly identical except for one key detail: there was a charm for every baby they had.
Jinzha's necklace had a small charm shaped like the word "first" on it. Wukong's had charms all around it, each unique, though some were more obvious about who they represented than others.
Yao: We tried to make them accurate to each child, but we didn't get the opportunity to get to know most of them, so we tried our best.
Kang: They're in chronological order if it helps you to tell who's who.
SWK: Aw! You got all of them on there! Even the ones that aren't with me anymore, they're here!
Muzha: Some have passed?
Nezha: Indeed. Wukong made 28 in total over the centuries, but only 17 of them are left. Though we did welcome forth our adopted son, so the number is up to 18.
SWK: And look! He's here too! Look, he's a little moo cow right at the end here.
Jinzha: *slightly horrified* ... How did you do that... also why...
SWK: I've said it before and I'll say it again. *points to Red Son* That is the only one I had on purpose. None of the other ones were my idea.
Jinzha: Sweet Buddha.
SWK: No sane person would make that many children on purpose.
Jinzha looked at Muzha for a moment. Then he looked to Wukong to see if she heard. No, still napping beside him after straining herself by cleaning. He looked back at Muzha.
Jinzha: Brother, Nezha will survive the surgery. I'm sure of that! He's going to be okay, Muzha.
Muzha: That's not what I mean and you know it!
Muzha: We were all told that Nezha's condition wouldn't be automatically fixed by the surgery. He'll have a healthier heart, sure, but that won't erase his disability.
Muzha: A disability that will take him from us, won't it? It's only a matter of time.
Jinzha: ...
Jinzha: I believe so, yes.
Jinzha: But let's try not to think about it. Let's cherish the time we have together, however brief. We have already wasted too much time.
Muzha: ... What about Wukong? What will happen to her when he's gone? Assuming she outlives him, that is.
Jinzha: Then I will see to it that she is well cared for. I won't leave our beloved sister in the dust.
Muzha: Nezha would haunt us forever if we did!
Jinzha: I think so, yes! Even if he didn't, I still believe it to be my duty to care for our sister in his absence. She has been through enough.
Muzha: How much do you know?
Jinzha: Only that her first husband used to beat her while she was with child, among countless other things. And that her second died of a serious illness. Far more than that has happened to her, I know that much.
Muzha: Poor thing. No wonder Wukong had become so undone.
Jinzha: Indeed. But luckily, in Nezha, Wukong has found strength again.
~~~
Wukong came with the Li brothers to visit Nezha as soon as they could. When the door opened, Nezha popped his head off the pillow.
Muzha: Oh boy, here we go!
Jinzha: You got the video cam ready?
Muzha: You know it!
Jinzha: Hi, Nezha! How are you feeling? *puts his hand on Nezha's shoulder*
Nezha: *smacks Jinzha's hand* Don't touch me, I have aaaaa wife!
Jinzha: No, Brother, it's me! It's Jinzha-
Nezha: I dooooooon't caaaaareeeeeeeeee!
Nezha: I wanna my wifey lady.
SWK: I'm here, Daffodil.
Nezha: *squints at Wukong* *tilts his head* *blows raspberry*
SWK: *blows raspberry back*
Nezha: WIFEY! Lady wifey c'mere. *claps and does grabby hands at Wukong*
SWK: Okay, but I gotta be careful. You're still healing, my darling. *climbs into bed with him*
Nezha: *wraps himself around Wukong* Pretty lady wife! *squishes various parts of Wukong with his hands* Squishy wife!
SWK: Oh my goodness! I love you too, but be careful. I don't want anyone getting hurt!
Nezha: *lets go of Wukong* *puts his hands up* It's okay, it's okay, Wukong! I'm not gonna hurt you, I promise no one will hurt you. No one will touch you without you want to.
SWK: *gasps* Oh, Nezha!
SWK: Put your hands down, I'm okay. You can touch me.
Nezha: *puts his hands on her cheeks* This okay?
SWK: Yes. Yes it is.
Jinzha: Is everything alright, Wukong?
Muzha: He's not usually like that when coming off of anesthesia...
SWK: That's... that's what he does whenever I'm... having difficulties. He reassures me that I'm safe and that he won't touch me without permission.
Nezha: *claps and does grabby hands* BAAAABYYYYYYY!!!!!
RS: Oh, alright! *climbs in next to him*
Muzha: *laughs* Still the baby of the family, aren't you, Nephew?
RS: Oh, shut up!
Nezha: Caihong!
RS: What?! Don't call me that, in front of other people, and there's a camera!
Nezha: RAINBOW BABY!!!
RS: Stooooop!!!
~~~
*two days later*
SWK: *typing on the computer*
Lady in waiting: Mistress, there's someone here to see you.
SWK: *not looking up* Are they a family member or a friend?
LIW: A family member. One of very high standing too!
SWK: Let them in.
LIW: *opens the door*
Erlang: Ah! Wukong, it's good to see you again. How are things?
SWK: *delighted* Erlang?! Oh my Buddha! It's so good to see you! Are you feeling better? Are you doing alright?
Erlang: *laughs* I ought to be asking you that, but yes, I am doing much better. Though it seems things have changed a bit in my absence.
SWK: I'll give you three guesses as who's to blame for that.
Erlang: Jing. Not really a difficult question.
SWK: Yeah. Have you been told the story or do you need me to explain?
Erlang: My fiancees informed me. We visited Nezha this morning too. He seems to be well cared for. And how are you doing, Wukong?
SWK: Well, it's been quite the adjustment. Ruling Heaven isn't an easy job as I'm sure you're well aware, and-
Erlang: Would those in waiting of the Empress be dismissed? I need to speak to her privately.
Wukong's ladies-in-waiting, assistants, and nurses left the room. Wukong herself was very perplexed by the order.
SWK: Is something the matter?
Erlang: *kneels down and holds Wukong's hands* Speak to me as family, not as another politician. Please. I know things have been difficult, and I want you to be honest with me about it.
Erlang: Please, Wukong. You matter very much to me.
SWK: *looks down at their hands* *hugs Erlang* I don't want to dump everything on you so soon but... *tearing up*
Erlang: *picks her up* *holds her close* I'm well enough. I can handle the burden. I've had time to heal. Talk to me.
SWK: *crying* It's been so much. I'm trying to be strong but it's like I've been handed shattered glass and expected to meld it into something far beyond my skill.
SWK: *between sobs* And my husband... my poor husband...
SWK: Every morning and every night I pray to Buddha that I might keep my husband just a little while longer.
SWK: Just a little while longer.
Erlang: *hugs her closer* My precious daughter-in-law, we will keep him. Everything will be alright. He is strong. And until he is able to show you how strong he is, I will be here to remind you.
Erlang: Baba's here now, everything will be alright. I've got things under control.
SWK: Okay... okay...
SWK: Do you want to take the crown from my husband and I?
Erlang: I was hoping to be my son's equal, and to have you join us if you wish to. It's seems things didn't quite go according to my plan, but don't worry, I will set things right.
SWK: Thank The Buddha. You are exactly the type of thing I was praying for.
SWK: Oh, by the way, Nezha and I might've... fired some people...
SWK: Okay, a lot of people, but only because they were being malicious, dishonest, or disrespectful.
Erlang: *laughs* I figured you two would do something like that. Counted on it, actually! I was so busy trying to contain Jing's messes that I let a lot of things slip under the rug so I wouldn't spread myself too thin!
SWK: I was wondering how so many things went unnoticed by you. Jing seems like a good distraction for... literally everything.
