A fag end of November day in Bristol
While I'm still laid up after a fall that left me with a semi functional left hand and an injured left leg, I'm spending time re-visiting some of my images to create composites and apply some creative filters. Not just for the sake of it but, to convey some of what I felt when I was at these locations.
The weather was overcast, threatening rain which eventually materialised as darkness fell. Everywhere felt subdued and a bit flat. I hope that's conveyed in the treatment I've applied to these images.
These images were shot 'on the go' as I had other matters to attend to that day. It certainly wasn't a day for intentionally shooting images, that's for sure!

A Fairbairn steam crane…
This crane was seen on the quayside by the Floating Harbour in Bristol. This composite image is made up of shots I took of it when I was having a wander along the waterside last Saturday (22.2). I'm not quite sure which of the three versions of this I prefer, although I am leaning a bit towards the black and white one. What do you think?

Crane action
Here are a number of preserved cranes to serve as a reminder of when this part of Bristol was a fully functioning port…

I've been experimenting with different ways of presenting my images. This involves taking a number of photographs of one subject and presenting them as a set on a grid.
Last Saturday, we (my partner Liz & me) had a walk along the Floating Harbour in Bristol, specifically to get some shots of the preserved cranes along the quayside. The light that day was pretty dismal, with the sky being a uniform pale grey. I've been playing around with some of these images to see if I can jazz them up a bit. By applying the colourising filter in Corel PaintShop Pro, I may have managed to add a certain something to them. Anyway, here are six of these images presented as a composite…enjoy:)
