Chiang Mai, Thailand, is currently dealing with its worst flood in many years. The Ping River has risen to a historic 5.30 meters, causing flooding in areas that have never been affected by such events before. Crucial business areas, such as the Night Bazaar and Chang Klan Road, are underwater with over a meter of floodwater. Sadly, at least two people have lost their lives, and thousands are waiting to be evacuated. The city is also experiencing power cuts and disruptions to its transportation infrastructure.
With climate change causing significant damage to our planet, it is more important than ever to bring together global scientific knowledge in a single International Science Center.
