Or: Khun will follow Bam as far as he can, and no farther. Bam doesn’t think that’s far enough.
“Nightmare Floor,” Bam repeats weakly. “Right.”
Rak is unimpressed. “These cheap tricks don’t fool me. Give me something I can fight.”
As if in response, the manor door swings open on its own.
“Careful what you wish for,” Khun says.
Some Thoughts: This fanfic was absolutely beautiful from start to finish. I just read it last night, and I cried real ugly sobs because the writing was so beautiful. At one point near the end, I had to like breathe for a good thirty minutes to reacquaint myself with my own existence because that one line made my entire axis shift to the right. I will not lie, I did not want to read this at first because I’m not a huge fan of horror and while reading fanfics for Tower of God, I usually don’t like anything too heavy. It’s why the summary with the words “Nightmare Floor” made me go “ehhhh??”
But I was a fool. I love the interactions of all the characters in the fic, the exploration of their pasts and the interactions between Khun and Bam! The most I was in awe of, however, was the way the author described the dancing sequences. They were all incredibly well written, each evoking a different emotion with every single dance partner Khun ends up with. It was also incredibly hard to put down because it explored the pair’s insecurities so well, and I’m screaming. Please read it. It’s absolutely worth it.
God I love introspection fics so much.
