CRACK!
A bolt of lightning not a hundred feet away produced a thunder wave that shook the two survivors of the sugar cane to the core on this dismal night. It was almost pitch black in the field, the pouring rain doing a nice job of washing the blood out of the fox’s fur for the moment, but the bleeding wasn’t going to stop for a while, not that he even cared for the moment. Each rod of lightning illuminating one to the other, it already seemed like the kind of night they would have to drink to to forget about for a while to come.
And so he stood there, the exhausted fox detective who was way out of his element, every part of his body screaming in agony as though only mere fibers held it together. He could barely even hold the gun in his shaking paw at this point, but with what had just transpired, he wasn’t prepared to lower it either.
“So, what now?” He painstakingly managed the question towards the rabbit survivor opposite him a few paces, nearly mirroring him with a weapon of her own. This stalemate had gone on for more than a minute, both seeming to be at a loss for words. Something wasn’t right here, Nick knew it when the night had began, all the way up to now. That bunny had to be his Judy...but then, what was all of this? Some sort of brutal practical joke? A prank? Whatever it was, it had nearly killed him tonight, and this world was not making any more sense to him. Was it a dream? It was certainly no dream. No, it was a nightmare, but worse, it was a living nightmare.

To many, Jack Savage was mostly a rumor. Many knew about him but never truly saw him in person. He was always on the go, heavily absorbed in his agent work that involved spying and investigating crime scenes. He was almost mysterious in a way. Leaving the chief’s office, Jack was holding several files under his armpit, eyes incredibly focused on his destination: his desk. Jack was mysteriously assigned to a case that was top secret, meant to stay out of other officers’ eyes.
On his way to his desk, he suddenly comes in eye contract with Judy. Stopping in place for a second.
❝ You. ❞ He mumbles, squinting a bit.
❝ Are you perhaps... Officer Judy Hopps? I’ve heard much about you from Headquarters. Congrats on your efforts. ❞ He must’ve been speaking about her recent case, the Nighthowler Case. That was solved only a few weeks ago, if he recalled correctly. He wasn’t very charismatic, but Jack figured that it would be generous of him to congratulate her.
