She lifts the gun and tries to to be nervous, tries to be as calm as Florence is. Thats a lot easier said than done. Guns are part of Florence’s career, they’re normal for her. However in Olivia’s line of work you pray no one brings a gun anywhere near the bar. Bullets and booze might mix, but it’s not a good one. However Olivia hasn’t had a drop to drink today, so at least she doesn’t have that to worry about.  “Are we sure this is a good idea?” she asks Florence, turning her head away from the target to look at the woman over her shoulder. In theory coming to the shooting range was something she’d wanted to do, she still did. It was just a little nerve wracking to be holding an actual gun. Something that was capable of ending a human life.

It’s too early in the night for them to be feeling cornered, and yet here they are.

There’s a Green voter who’s clearly had three too many drinks to their left trying to pick a fight over nothing more than the fact that Amycus’ company makes money from mining fossil fuels and a Nationalist to their right who’s loudly stating that they’re not racist but British energy companies should be owned by British companies and run by British people for British people. They’ve only had one drink so far tonight and it’s nowhere near enough to be dealing with this shit but they can’t see an escape route -- that is, until they spot a familiar face making her way through the crowd towards them.

“Detective Inspector!” Whether she was walking this way purposefully or it had just been by chance, Florence is now their best bet at getting out of this situation without starting a fight. The two gentlemen seem to have clocked what that title means but Amycus doesn’t stick around long enough to see if her presence would be enough to get them to back off peacefully, taking her arm with a glance pleading for her to get them out of there. “So lovely to see you here. Can I get you a drink?”
