I mean floriana Lima allegedly used connected people to take these Latina roles not oopsy I auditioned and didn't know! She's actively trying and receiving help taking Latina roles when she was marketed as Italian for mob Doctor

The whole allegedly thing does’t mean much. Every job out there is about connexions, even more so in that line of work. If she did target specifically Latina roles then she’s even a worse person than I thought. And if she didn’t, she still goes with it, which is nearly as bad in my book. If you don’t stand up against something fucked up then you’re as bad as the people actually doing it.

They never looked to cast a Latina... It was only after she was cast that they said that, ( idk maybe they didn't realize she wasn't) and then people started to get upset. It's really annoying that the actress gets hate for shit that she doesn't have control over.

Unless Ms. Lima is roaming the dark recesses of tiny Tumblr pages about her… I’m not actively hating her. If she was cast as a non Latina and then they made Maggie Sawyer Latina then it means that the CW, as per fucking usual, are baiting. What happened, they suddenly realised that there cast was a little too pasty bland and that 1 man of colour was not enough to appear open minded and inclusive so as an afterthought: hey why not add a Latina and make her gay! Boom, idea of the century, we will be catering to the Gays AND the Latinos. Amazing. Groundbreaking. Which anyway would not change the fact that she knowingly started to play a Latina character. You can’t blame everything on the job. She made a choice. Nobody put a gun to her head and forced her to take the role. It’s not as if she was in desperate need of cash. It’s not as if there were NO roles for women as hot as her out there. And even IF she was only acknowledge for Latina casts, instead of going with it, can’t she grow a pair and actually say something about it. Actually take it badly that the only reason why she gets roles is because she “passes” for Latina but is not TOO Latina. Women should be supporting each other, and privileged women should support women of colour because it’s ten times harder for them.

1. She isn't stealing Latina roles and if she is well they hire her and that's the business. It's not exactly her fault that she can pass for a Latina. I thought she was when I first saw her. 2. Who she dates isn't really anyone's business

1) So you basically just said that even if she DID steal that role from an actual Latina actress, it’s “the business”… what the hell is wrong with you? You do know that stealing is a bad thing right? Especially when it’s from people that actually need what you’re taking from them: i.e. representation. Not to mention that there are actual pictures of her where she’s as white as my caucasian arse in winter and then 3 months later all of a sudden she’s really, really, tanned. And you don’t PASS as Latina, either you are or you’re not. If someone thinks a woman is Latina because she is tanned, clearly that person has no bloody idea what Latina means. It’s not about the colour of your skin or hair, it’s intrinsically a part of who you are as a person. Not the only part but a huge part nonetheless. 2) Who she dates is everyone’s business since she chose a career where she’s in the public eye. Whether she likes it or not, being in tabloids and tv shows means that her private life is not that private anymore. Especially considering that who she’s dating is also famous. Which means that yes, people will judge her for her dating life. Then again I would judge anyone that is dating a sexual offender knowingly. So let’s say she dates a child molester, no big deal right. Who cares? She can date whoever she wants. Do you actually HAVE a limit where you can start feeling concerned about things that are literately in your face? A serial killer? A dictator? Apparently you’re the type of person that doesn’t give two shits about anything as long as it doesn’t impact them directly.
