We spent most of today cleaning. I doubt that we rival @that-girl-erin’s depth of cleanliness, but I took all the cushions off of our couch and vacuumed it. Then I took the couch apart and swept under it.
I deep cleaned the girls bedroom which was a mess. All three of them are messy. I had the kids wash the living, dining room, and kitchen floors once I had swept everything. I picked up Baby’s room. That leaves mine and H’s. I probably won’t get to his, but I’m sorting through nearly two years of foster care paperwork for NB that I was keeping in my closet so that will be thrown or filed depending on what it is. I need to scan a few documents first so that we can make changes to insurance and medical files. Once that’s done, I’m hoping to sweep and call it a day. I’m on my second of what’s shaping to be 4-5 loads of laundry.
Work is basically done for me. I’m so grateful! All of the major grading is complete. I’m waiting for exams to come rolling in, and then I will be calculating final grades and submitting them. Hopefully that will happen on Tuesday or Wednesday. I’m already prepping my J-term class, but not too much because enrollment is down so far and I don’t want to put the work in if the class isn’t going to be a go.
We scheduled the big van to have new tires installed on Tuesday. If I weren’t waiting on that, I’d probably have already gone to Florida. Ms. 6 has to work on Monday and Tuesday. Myself and two of the kids have dentist appointments this week too.
I’m trying to decide if if DH should return to work ASAP, or he should stay home on FMLA and then fly back from Florida for work at the end of this week and into next week. My other option would be to drive down with the kids solo. I feel like maybe I could do that but I’m not positive. DD will still be in her virtual PHP which means someone has to wrangle all the kids enough so that it’s not complete chaos in the car. I also could not drive straight through on my own so then I would have to figure out stopping and the potential COVID risk. I’m sure I will decide about two hours before heading out of town.
